Hawkins Violin Shop

I was throughly surprised to hear that there was a violin shop in my own hometown; of course, well after I left! I took my violin and 3 bows to be rehaired there last year and I could not be happier with my work. People actually noticed how much better I sounded!

Mr. Hawkins has worked on two cellos for me. He is the second luthier to have worked on my instruments and I wish I had never had others work on them. He is extremely knowledgeable and his rates are competitive. I recommend him without reservation.

My violin needed repair after it had been messed up by another repair shop in the Madison, WI area. Through friends, my violin "found" Hawkins Violin Shop. John is extremely knowledgable regarding stringed instruments. I went to the shop to pick my instrument after repairs. I played only 5 notes and had tears in my eyes. My violin had never sounded so good. I would highly recommend this shop.
