My family and I have been going to Dr. Hodes's office for over twenty years. Their office is very clean, their staff is friendly, and their vets are very professional. They've treated most of our pets for their entire lives and whenever they had to stay over we were allowed visits. I can not imagion taking our pets to anyone else. Just moved home a year ago after 20 years in the Midwest. EVERY doctor in the office is not only professional, they are exceptional. I saw one poor fellow had a bad experience and that is inexcusable, I agree. But I don't think it defines the practice. Sad as the poor fellow's story about the cat is (and I believe that it happened), I've seen nothing but heart from all the doctors there and ALL of the assistants. They're just plain good people and I trust them. So I'm sure that if they could take back that decision about that poor cat, they would have done things differently. Better than any vet in Chicago, one of the best parts of being back home. I highly recommend Dr. Hodes and his staff. By Scott Brown on August 13, 2010 at 07:47 AM
I never met more caring, and educated doctors in a vet group than the Hodes Group. They are pricey, but can you put a price tag on a furry family memeber? You can be rest assured your furry friend is well cared for at this place. I wouldn't use anyone else. By Roseann Krygier on August 05, 2010 at 08:04 PM
I found him to be professional and very caring. I brought my sister's ferret to him. There was no hope, the animal had to be put down; it had lost use of its back legs.
He was sympathetic, explaining point for point what the procedure would be for injecting the ferret. He held the animal very tenderly as we watched. It was over quickly, we cried, he was tremendously sympathetic which can't be easy for someone who sees death and illness every single day. My sister had another vet she'd been using prior to that time and, in that moment, she transferred ALL her animals to his care.
I should mention he's a good distance from us. Doesn't matter—when you get that kind of care, the words said to reach through the pain, you know you've got someone you can trust and feel good about. By Linda Cappel on April 14, 2010 at 08:34 AM
Dr, Hodes USED to be a great caring Vet, until the day my cat was dying from kidney failure (CRF), then he couldn't be bothered to come to the office to put my cat down when she was in great pain and told me to take it to the emergency clinic....the last time I will ever bring one of my pets and any of my business to that heartless bastard.
Just beware of people you think are really caring for your pets....they just want the green! By Harry N Russell Jr on December 03, 2009 at 05:55 PM
I live 15 miles away and would rather listen to a irrate cat in a car than go to another vet closer. (Have been going to them for more than 20 years with cats and dogs) Staff and Doctors are always exceptionally helpful and extremely compassionate when the situation requires it. A+++++ Highly recommend. By S MacNaughten on September 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM
