I have lived out there and it was a nice quite place and I felt safe living there I have 3 kids and I did not have to worry about them when they were outside. I think the landord is a great preson and is willing to help poeple out if they need her to.

I have resided in this Park for over 5, well maybe six years now. While I have to admit, when I first moved in I even questioned my own safty as well as the safty of my home when I was away. With the current management and constant communication which the management has been able to achieve through out the park, I have to say that I feel more safe here than anywhere in the city. Like anywhere there have been problems, I would be a fool to not say so, but management has delt with the problems and with the strict regulations and application process to be a resident has ensured that Hollywood Trailer Park is probably one of the safest communities in South Bend.

In response to the person that has "heard" that this mobile home park is bad and full of drug activities. I live in this Mobile Home Park and I feel very safe living here, and as far as Drug Activity, I believe drug problems are a Country wide problem and does not center around this community. There have been issues in the past as far as drugs, and now the residents and managment work together to report these activities, and do what needs to be done to get these types of people out of our community and do everything possible to keep these types of people from moving in. Our community went from being turned upside down with about 30 abandoned/condemned mobile homes, drug problems, alcholics, prostitution, thefts, etc... managment changed from Property Managment to Park Managment, the owners got involved and cleaned up the overall visual aspects of the community and evicted the trouble makers. This community is very safe now and has been cleaned up of all of the above issues.

I live in Hollywood Mobile Home Park, and while I agree the past had brought us many problems. Old managment was removed, new managment came in, brought the police in, tow companies, the health department and many other groups that aided in the change of this park. There are no drug activities in this park, and if someone does slip through the landlords strict application evaluation, and is a problem, the drug units are called, and eviction is done. My landlord has done many since she took her job, and does not put up with the problems. I have made complaints to her about issues with problem people (tenants and non tenants) and have gotten immediate positive results. You cant judge this place for what it use to be. It is a really nice place to live.

Merchant Response: "You cannot judge this park by what you "heard", you have to see this park, and meet the people. They will all tell you that this park is safe and drug free. What you have heard, is the common stereotype for most mobile home parks, but the fact is that this mobile home park does not operate by those standards. Prior to July 2004, this park had gotten pretty bad, there was alot of drug issues with that probably being the least of this parks problems. With the help of the St. Joseph County Police, the drug task force, and new managment this park has made a complete turn around. There is no toleration for drugs or any problems in the mobile home park, we have strict rules and regulations and enforce them to the fullest. Since new managment has taken over in July of 2004, we have done over 20 evictions to illiminate the problem or nuisance tenants. Children now play through out the park, we have Easter Egg Hunts, and Holloween Parties for the children, along with community yard sales, and community BBQ's. If a tenant becomes a problem, they are removed, problems of any sort are not tolerated here, and drugs are not tolerated here. " - June 23, 2007
