Kirschbaums Bakery

Kirschbaum's has the BEST chocolate donuts around (the coconut donuts are really good, too)! Their coffee cakes are loved by everyone at Whitney Young HS in Chicago. I bring them in on special institute days and everyone asks where they are from! The cinnamon raisin bread has been a family favorite for 25 years.

Our family has been going to Kirschbaums for decades. Even when we've lived out of state, Grandma-Great could be counted on to carry at least one Pizza Coffee Cake to us when she flew out for holidays and special occassions. Something delicious from Kirschbaums has graced the table of every important occassion in our family. And when Grandma-Great died, the entire family--local and out-of-town members--trooped over to Kirschbaums after services for a memorial visit and a great family photo. Don't worry, we're stil dropping in when we're back in the Chicago area. See 'ya next month!

I have been going to Kirschbaums since I was 3 years old (over 50 years!!) The absolute BEST cake in the world. I now live in Ohio and every opportunity I get to go "home" I bring cakes home with me. My kids LOVE them, too, along with my Ohio friends. My son loves the tea cookies. Hopefully, the bakery will live on forever. Love the fact that the sign in front and the inside of the bakery has never changed.

I've been going to Kirschbaums since I can remember! They have the BEST cake around! Every year for my birthday I have to get a Kirschbaums cake, otherwise it's just not a happy birthday!! I HIGHLY recommend this place. p.s. The smiley cookies are good too!
