Kristi Balding's Music Studio

Kristi is definitely a talented music teacher. Our daughter has been taking piano and flute lessons with Kristi for several years. I've seen Catherine gain confidence in her music skills, as well as develop her natural talent. But what I enjoy most is that Kristi has encouraged and supported Catherine's general love of music. Catherine is a reserved person, yet there have been many times she has been bursting to share with Kristi music she is learning in school or at home or achievements and interests that are outside of her lesson. And I knew that Kristi would be open and interested to hear about ALL of it. Kristi doesn't care only about achievement and progress; she also cares about growth and learning. I enjoy the fruits of their lessons but I so appreciate the love of music that they share. That is a gift for a lifetime.

Kristi is a wonderful lady with a great gift! I feel so very lucky to have found her. When my daughter's band teacher allowed her to switch to the oboe, she was literally just handed the book and sent on her way... I don't know where we'd be without Krist's guidence.

I used to take piano lessons from a diffrent teacher. It was fine from her but taking Ms. Kristi is a whole lot different. Ms. Kristi is a great teacher to work under, she makes the learning a little hard but really fun. This is the best piano teacher the world has ever known.

Kristi Balding has been our child's voice and piano teacher for 3 years. Even though we have no musical background, our child has become musically confident and proficient. Practice time has been easy for me to supervise due to Kristi's clear and detailed weekly homework plans. Challenging new pieces are often introduced 4 to 6 measures at a time until successful completion of a complex piece seems easy and natural. Sloppy, lazy or poorly practiced material is re-explained and appropriately reviewed until top-quality work becomes the automatic standard. Recitals are lively and well rehearsed. Recitals are only one avenue for artistic expression. Each year students can perform in a Clavinova festival. Twice a year, students perform before judges for the opportunity to win certificates, medals and trophies. Students also perform for their fellow students. Poise, appearance, and professional demeanor are explained and expected for recitals, judgings, festivals and performance classes.

Our daughters have been taking piano lessons from Kristi Balding for the past 2 1/2 years. Her teaching style is a perfect blend of talent, knowledge, humor and motivation. There has never been a time that our daughters have not wanted to go to their lessons. My husband or I usually stay for our daughters’ lessons for a couple reasons: it helps us to know what is expected of each girl for that week, and it is just enjoyable to sit and listen to the music and watch the chemistry. She is a talented woman. Each summer, Kristi holds day camps. This gives students the opportunity to boost their musical knowledge, increase their confidence, and build new friendships. Kristi’s students are involved in recitals, festival, guild competitions and award ceremonies. By having Kristi as your music teacher, you have made a commitment to learn from the best. She holds a BS in Music–Vocal Performance with Piano Proficiency. We truly, cannot say enough wonderful things about Kristi Balding.
