"I bought a house where the chimney had been undersized for the size of the furnace. This problem had caused the furnace not to work properly for several years.

A tech (one of the owners) stopped by after work. He showed up, and told me what would have to be done. He had a manual with the min chimney size, max run length, # of elbows, etc. which proved he knew what he was talking about. I asked how much it would cost but he told me his schedule was backed up, and since the weather was nasty he told me not to wait on him. So he told me how to do it myself, and spent more than an hour with me on the project plans.

I bought supplies the next day and fixed the chimney in an hour or two. What could have cost me $400 cost me $60 in materials. He didn't even charge me for the service call. he was also extremely friendly about the whole thing and sorry that he couldn't help right away."
