I took my wife and two kids to Marcos for the first time Saturday night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this place and will return soon. By Vincent Serpico on June 13, 2010 at 09:09 AM
I've always been a pretty big fan of Italian but after eating at marco's it's hard to imagine eating anything else. The food and service was exceptional and I'll definitely be back again and again!!!! By Jasmine L. on April 11, 2010 at 05:20 PM
Went to Marco's last night with my daughter. Thought it was a "hole in the wall" but as I walked in I saw fresh Roses, white table clothes, & a peaceful fountain. As I read the specials board I noticed a Channel 5 News award for cleanliness. Indeed, the place was clean and pretty. We sat and were immediately brought warm bread and sizzling oil & garlic, then I was offered a free wine sample! I ordered the Howling Moon, and our waitress made chocolate milk for my daughter even though it wasn't on the menu. They also gave my daughter a child's menu with a coloring picture on it and some markers. I ordered the Halibut Special for myself, and my daughter ordered a pizza. My Halibut was beautiful- I've never seen such a pretty dish with the puple mashed potatoes. Our pizza was quite simply the best I've ever had in Arizona. Then we both shared a Crepe Suzette for dessert. I am so impressed I will be back with the rest of my family, and definitely will tell my friends. By Karyn A. on September 21, 2009 at 09:43 AM
Off the beaten path, but well worth the trouble to find it. My friends and I eat here quite often. The reason to go out is to enjoy good food with good friends. That is what Marco’s provides: great authentic Italian soul food that doesn’t break the budget. His pasta dishes, with homemade sauces, are outstanding. We also like the chicken and veal dishes, and my personal favorite is the eggplant parmigiana. I never get tired of eating it and have also ordered it for home entertaining. For dessert, I recommend the chocolate cannoli with homemade filling..Yum. Of course, no Italian dinner is complete without an excellent espresso and a shot of Sambuca. Marco’s has it all … you won’t be disappointed, but do call for reservations, especially on the weekends. By Michele on April 21, 2009 at 02:19 PM
We tried Marco's Italian Bistro for the first time the other day, and I must say I was very impressed. I had the Parmesan Encrusted Halibut and it was TO DIE FOR! It came with these yummy purple mashed potatoes. The fish was cooked to perfection!!! I'm usually not big on fish, but Marco has turned me into a Halibut lover!! Well, only at his restaurant. I have tried fish at other places and they just don't compare. I got a free wine sample that was good (and FREE) that I had to order a glass!! The bread was soft and fresh, the staff was curteous and prompt, the chef came out to greet us (which shocked me) and all in all, it was a fine dining experience! The prices were reasonable, the FOOD WAS AMAZING (I finished my entire meal, which doesn't usually happen) and I will definitely be going back and bringing some other people with me. It is a small little family run business, and they were really on top of their game. It was a FANTASTIC meal, and I highly recommend you go!!! By Karen Einstein on September 22, 2009 at 05:56 PM
Hi Folks, Marco from Marco's Italian Bistro here, shamelessly promoting my own business. I hope you will come in and try us for yourselves and write your own reviews. Here is mine: Full line of beef, veal, chicken, seafood, and now personal gourmet pizzas too. Mostly organic ingredients such as sea salt, organic butter & heavy cream, natural hormone-free chicken, organic tomatoes used for all sauces. We won an award for cleanliness, with 3 gold stars in a row, and 2 of them having absolutely 0 violations. (and 2 more Gold Stars since then!) Almost all of my ingredients are extremely expensive, for example the Reggiano cheese that I grate myself costs nearly $10 per pound. I make authentic Italian specials such as Osso Bucco. If there is something that you want, let me know and I'll probably try and make it for you. I want to be YOUR neighborhood chef. By Marcos Italian Bistro on September 16, 2009 at 08:43 AM
If you want DELICIOUS Italian food (made by a REAL Italian....not some schmuck line cook hired in at $8/hr.) then I would definitely give Marco's Italian Bistro a try. I ate there last night with my family. The pizza was out of this world, and my kids kept asking for more! I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan, which if not at a restaurant, I would've licked my plate clean! It was sooooo good, and sooooo fresh! My husband ordered the Bolognese, and he was raving about that too. (I, of course, had to try it and it was DELISH!) The staff was super friendly and kept making sure we had everything we needed. We had hot, fresh bread upon being seated with a yummy olive oil and REAL garlic dipping sauce to go with it. The setting was really nice too, and very peaceful, yet kid friendly. The chef, Marco, came out to see how we liked the food!! Where does that ever happen? It was a really nice experience. I would recommend this place 100%!!! Ok, I am BIG into Italian Food .. My Favorite for sure. Being from Boston I have had my share of Amazing Italian cusine. Now, the food at Marcos is as good as I have eaten to anything in Boston and even better than many places there as well. For the record .. the meatballs are my favorite and you NEED to try them out. Service has always been excellent and even when busy they pay you as much personal attention as possible. I hope this Bistro is around for MANY years to come. GO THERE .. EAT UP and BRING your FRIENDS !! It would be a shame to not take advantage of such a Great Italian Dining Exeperience right here in our Valley ! I WILL BE BACK .. over and over again ..Steve
