Nicholas Potter Bookseller

I've visited with Nick Potter at Nicholas Potter Bookseller on East Palace Ave in Santa Fe for the past 20 years. Nick took over the store his father began years ago. It is a book reader's dream. A little house full of books, just down from the Santa Fe Plaza, and very near La Casa Sena, one of Santa Fe's premier restaurants. Nick is a most engaging fellow, book-smart, knowledgeable about authors, editions, and Santa Fe. He has rare books, modern first editions, a world of books on the Southwest, a good poetry section, and he knows about every book in his store. I haven't done Santa Fe properly if I don't get by Nicholas Potter Bookseller. It's that good and satisfying.

Every time I go to Santa Fe, I make a beeline for the bookstore to see what treasures are waiting for me on the shelves. It's a book lover's dream: books on every wall, books piled up on tables, books in the closets, books in the restroom. Let the other tourists have the Governor's Palace and the endless jewelry stores filled with dyed tourquoise; give me an afternoon with Nicholas Potter Bookseller.
