Must have changed in the past year - best place to eat on the Mountain!

5

The food choices are unique for this area - lots of seafood and great grains along with the typical steaks and burgers. Very little deep fried - lots of saute with very flavorful sauces. The salmon is delicious and the fresh veggies are perfectly al dente! The waitstaff has always been very accomodating - one of the few places that you can bring-your-own bottle. Be sure to make reservations for Firday or Saturdays - if not you will have a very long wait!

FOOD CRITICS REVIEW

1

Would of given it a zero but there wasn't one Everything that my husband & I had was OVER seasoned, over& or under cooked & just plain awful. My husband & I have traveled around the world and had better food at some local bars which we knew was frozen & heated. We have both been executive chefs for many years & have never been treated as poorly as we were tonight Not sure if the "guy" who spoke with us was the owner or the manager but he was extremly rude Being a graduate from The Culinary Institute of America as well as a culinary instructor & in the food SERVICE industry for 30 years myself he was the most ignorant (lacks knowledge) manger I have ever met My husband was the executive chef at one of the TOP 5 private clubs in the U.S.A. & a culinary dean of instruction The man who spoke with us had no idea who we are or what we knew trying to explain to him that we had the knowledge of food he dismissed us like he was correct . What ever happened to the customer is always right?

Excellent, adept with Gluten Free needs

5

Excellent food with a variety to please everyone. They are adept and knowledgeable with gluten free needs. Just let them know your dietary restrictions and they will be willing to accommodate, and with a smile on their faces. Although not listed on their menu, they have gluten free cracker substitutions to go with their appetizers upon request. We call ahead and tell them of those in our group with restrictions, and the server doesn't need to be reminded upon arrival, they are that good. For warmer days of dining, they have a great deck with a view that overlooks the mountain. Reservations needed on weekends it is so popular. BYOB. Excellent

I own a condo in Seven Springs and we coordinate when we are coming up by when they can take us. You will not find a better restaurant in the Laurel Highlands. Try the Hummus or smoked salmon as an appetizer, Burger, wrap, salad, or fish sandwich for dinner and chocolate lava cake for dessert! You will not be disappointed. PLEASE call ahead for reservations and rememeber it is BYOB!

A great experience!

5

My boyfriend and I spent a weekend in the Laurel Highlands for a visit to Fallingwater and some other local attractions. We made reservations on our way from Ohio to PA for Saturday night (I'm glad we did because they were PACKED!) We had a disappointing table for a couple who made reservations (right by the front door and waiting area so we were being watched by waiting customers the whole time - not the most ideal locale for tables!) We brought our own beer and were very amused by the idea of that! We started with the artichoke hearts for an appetizer, then we both ordered steaks for our entree (my boyfriend had the t-bone special and I had the strip - his was much more flavorful than mine!) For dessert, I ordered the bananas foster, and he got a chocolate lava cake. The food, from beginning to end, was fantastic and flavorful. Our overall experience would've been enhanced by a more experienced waitress, and a better table, but the food made up for those minor shortcomings.

This place was amazing! I was lucky enough to find it traveling and I have to say I wish I lived near by. I would be there everyday! The food was wonderful and so different from the boring restaurants we're all so used to eating. I recommend the hummus and salmon. It's being remodeled and it still looks warm and inviting. And the staff is so friendly. Our waitress, a cute brunette with big blue eyes, had us laughing the entire time! It was a great find!!

Food excellent...Ambience lacking

4

Food excellent - ergo the stars..read on. We ventured out in the snow & wind to try this new restaurant we've heard about..The food was excellent & the presentation - wonderful. The downside - noise from all the hard surfaces in the DR. More like a cafeteria than a restaurant coupled with a very inexperienced wait staff. We had reservations..Upon arrival they wanted to seat us infront of the kitchen, in the very busy wait staff area. Not acceptable. Understandable with no reservatons. We were moved to the DR. We had to asked for a cork screw & glasses to enjoy a glass of wine while we continued to wait to place or our orders. I hope in time to come, the owner will bring the atmosphere and & the level of sevice through educating & training his inexperienced wait staff up to the quality & the price of his food.. Will we be back..probably but not anytime soon!
