pretty sure that is the same person that used to be a manager at the place. hilarious. food is good though. totally over-priced and the management doesnt help for the most part. no appreciation for the people that keep that place running. employees. By haha kevin on July 25, 2010 at 09:26 PM
We ate at the Purple Pig last Friday night and again Saturday night. The fish were great Friday and Sat. my husband had a steak that he could cut with a plastic fork and I had Chicken Fajitas with the best homemade "half breed" tortillas. We live in Natchitohces, La and will drive back just to eat at the Purple Pig. The little manager is a doll and everyone was so friendly. Keep up the great cooking and we will be back! Loved it!! This little BBQ joint was a delight! The food was awesome, there was live entertainment and the wait staff was friendly and made us feel like part of the "regular" crowd. My husband and I were just passing through and we so glad we stopped to eat here. I don't think I have ever had better pork ribs! By Melanie Lyle on April 20, 2009 at 07:29 PM
A few weeks ago I stopped in about 10:30 for breakfast. I ordered the Southwest Eggs Benedict. It was just great. The Hollandaise was very flavorfill and silky. The platform was indeed a split bisquit that had been toasted. The ham was very generous and the egg was porched correctly.
I had been raving to my brother about the wonderful breakfast. So today Feb 11th he came over from Palestine. My brother ordered the #10 omelet w/o bell peppers. He was brought a buritto wrapped in a tortilla. We told the staff and was told - OH WELL.
I again ordered the Southwest Eggs Benedict. What I was presented with was - a soggy bun that had need split in half, ham and egg were acceptable. However the Hollandaise was another story. It was dark colored, tasteless, and curdled.
Come on guys. I know you can do better. By Barbara Wilson on March 11, 2009 at 05:48 PM
I was traveling from Indiana to San Antonio Texas down through Tyler, missed my turn onto hwy 31 in Tyler. I saw hwy 155 and that it would take me where I wanted to go, so I took it. That's when I saw the Purple Pig down by Flint TX. We made our run to San Antonio and on the way back took the same route and stopped at the Purple Pig for lunch, and shopped at the place next door.
The aroma hit us at the steps and the staff greeted us as soon as we walked through the door. The food is just short of heavenly, well prepared and served quickly. The prices are reasonable and the place is neat and clean. The Indian chief photos are interesting as are the other items of decor.
We have now made it a regular stop on our trip weekly, and have taken several other folks there and told many more about it.
We take friendly, clean, great food and good price very seriously and this little spot is the best! Mick and Pam Cone By Mick and Pam Cone on December 18, 2007 at 04:34 AM
