Looking for Suggestions

Hello: Recently I was rumaging through my granny's attick. Of course everyone dreams of finding riches there. All I found was a lot of junk. But if anyone's interested a Gutenburg Bible and a baseball card for some guy named Honus, please contact me. There were boxes and boxes of comic books I haven't even gone through yet. The only thing I'm keeping is a nice Hummel. I really need to clean this attick! Wife's orders. I'll even pay you to haul it all away. Yours truly, Patsy Suckerton

Why Does My Neck Hurt So Bad?

1

Dear Reader: I have two electrodes implanted on either side of my neck. I am writing to find out if there are others out there who share my predicament. This has led to some social awkwardness throughout my life. I desire only to be a responsible and productive member of society. If anyone has any advice to give me, I hope they'll put their nose in an electrical socket. Once you know how its feels - then you may be in a position to comment. Resentfully yours Frank N. Stein

Nice Guy - Crap Prices

2

The guy - Rod - who own the place is nice - but he has no idea about grading comics. His prices on the books in his shop are outrageous. He has a ton of stock - some impressive books - but he will never sell them because he has no clue how to actually price them out! Books that are a solid 4 or 5 he has as a 9 - and most of the books are priced at mint prices when the books are far from it! He needs to be snapped into reality - but I don't think it's possible anymore. #1.00 books at his store are priced out at $15.00. Such a shame.

Dear Editor: I don't believe that I would ever have become a dentist had it not been for Highlights Magazine. Reading it always distracted me from thinking of that drill going about a million miles an hour. But this set me to thinking - why haven't they made comic books from the fine cartoons featured in Highlights? I think the wonderous adventures of the "Timbertoes" and "Goofus and Gallant " would divert and entertain an even wider audience than they do today!!! They would in turn lend a class to the comic book industry that is so lacking in today - what with all the sex and violence that is a staple nowadays. Yours very sincerely, Dr. Wendy Wackerstein, DDS

Friends: Without a doubt the busiest time pf year for a real mother is around the holidays. It is a yearly marathon to complete all the shopping and cooking and decorating necessary. No mother enjoys seeing disappointment in the faces of her progeny nor complaints that her turkey is too dry. Does any of this have the slightest to do with comic books or baseball cards? Perhaps not but as a mother and a concerned citizen I do have what I hope is a helpful holiday suggestion. While your bowels are groaning with the latest holiday meal there's no better reading on the can than a good comic book. So this holiday season I humbly submit the following advice: Don't be a Chump while you're taking a Dump! Read a comic book today! Merry Christmas to All Sincerely, Mrs. Ima Kidder

Friends In Jesus: Do not fall into the temptation of reading comic books for that is the sure way to perdition! If you know a child who is about to embark on the sinful path of a collector of comic books please remind him that Jesus never read comic books and neither did his disciples. The vice that this activity leads to has been well established by study after study. Oh, if you could see the wards of mislead youths who succumbed to the comic book fad, it would tear your heart out. The raving, drooling lunatics still beg for their fixes of Superman, Swamp Thing and Prez. Please help me in my crusade againt the perversion of the youth of America by sending me as much money as you possibly can. Yours Truly, Reverend I.C. Plenty P.O. Box 666 Beverly Hills, CA 90201

Friends: I would personally like to thank all of those persons who visited me during me recent illness. Thanks especially for all the comic books you brought. A man should never admit such a thing but - well, Little Dot is my favorite comic book character! I had every issue. Then when I joined the Marines in 66, my mother threw them out! Well in any case, Keep Em Flying! Your friend, Ralph "Dutch" Munderson

Comicbooks and baseball cards are a leading source of juvenile delinquency. Keep your children far away from them. My own son died because of comicbooks. He scratched his finger on a rusty staple and died. This is what inspired me to study medicine. Sincerely, Dr. Marvin Haines, MD
