Mrs. Watral: You were a wonderful experience today for both my wife and I. She resists help, seems to run in the bloodline, but your kind and compassionate words echoed clearly so many things I have been telling her for ten years. You very well may have saved our marriage, children's future and R's life by helping her see clearly today. I thank you so much. A.

I have known Lauren Watral since 2008 as a competent, caring Geriatric Care Manager. Her background in Social Work and her years of experience in case management have served her well in working with seniors seeking help in the complicated world of healthcare management. I highly reccomend Lauren Watral to anyone seeking help with their own care, or help with a parent or spouse.

I attend the Adult Children of Aging Parents support group at Magnolia Glen. Lauren provides a warm and welcoming environment for those who need to share experiences and feelings about our aging parents. And she is a wealth of knowledge regarding resources available in the area.

I was a caregiver for an elderly lady in an independent care facility and herson was not seeing to her needs., She did not see very well and had no items that would help her see things better, such as large print playing cards, audio books, large magnifiers and such. Lauren gave me several websites with information on aids for the blind that would have been very helpful, low cost or free and would have given her a better quality of life. Unfortunately, her son did not avail himself of those websites and she passed away shortly after. But, I have saved the info so that I can use it at a later date with someone else. Lauren is an excellent repository of useful information for geriatric care.

I have been a group member of ACAP (Adult Children of Aging Parents) since November 2009. when I first came to the meetings, I was in crisis, dealing with my father's dementia. I have since learned skills to help me cope with his disease, found comfort with the group sharing ideas, books to read, shared similar situations, and somehow have found a way to take my life back without too much guilt, while making sure my father is taken care of. Lauren's skills as a Geriatric Care Manager have been so helpful for me and my family while going through these trying times. When in crisis, I have hired Lauren to help guide me and to make educated decisions for my father's best interest. It is nice to know that there is someone to turn to, with the knowledge, skills, and personal care that Lauren brings to the table.

Lauren has provided an invaluable service to our ACAP (Adult Children of Aging Parents) support group at Magnolia Glen. We hear nothing but positive feedback about Lauren's compassion, her limitless energy and the valuable resources she provides to those in the group.

Lauren Watral is knowledgable, compassionate, professional, and responsive. She provided information for our family when we needed it most, offering alternatives when appropriate and reassurance that the care choices we made were the best options for our mother. Lauren has years of experience with the special needs of geriatric patients and understands the difficulties of an aging parent living away from their adult children. She made the past year much more manageable, and we thank her for her accessibility, generosity of spirit, and broad knowledge base.

I was completely overwhelmed taking care of my dad with Alzheimers Disease. With little support from my brothers, I am the sole healthcare representative for my family. When I contacted Lauren at Raleigh Geriatric Care Management, I felt instant relief with her support and guidance. Lauren is a wonderful resource for advice, recommendations, and a guide as to what to expect as we move forward. She has been invaluable for my family and especially for me. She takes personalized care with my mom and dad and has been so sensitive to the difficulties we face. Through her assessment process, Lauren made us more aware of the disease progression; we then were able to acknowledge the reality of my dad's illness. She helped us learn the best way to help my dad proceed with dignity and comfort. From the suggestion to speak slowly to dad so that he could process information to the help with cessation of driving, Lauren's expertise was a God send.

Lauren has given our family encouragement and advice through programs she has conducted, e-mails with links to resources to read, and her availablility to help when needed. She has also done an in-home assessment for some friends of ours, and they learned some valuable information which helped them with their Loved One. Each family is so unique, but Lauren seems to know just the right services that will best fit the family's needs in a practical and professional manner. Tommy

Lauren was an earth angel during one of the hardest times of my life. She gave me a safe place to come and talk openly aboutmy caregiving to my parents. During the months of caregiving Lauren was a gentle place to fall. I found myself looking forward to the support group and to Lauren's wise guiding words.

My family called upon Lauren Watral of Raleigh Geriatric Care Managment to settle a dispute about the care of an aging family member. She was an empathetic listener and gave good suggestions. We asked her shortly afterward to write a care plan that included those suggestions, and she did a very comprehensive plan that took in every aspet of our aging family member's life. It was an invaluable planning tool for our family.

Lauren was caring and professional with excellent insight provided suggestions on how to deal with aging parents. She offers wonderful news letters and support. Overall, we had a very positive experience to help us to sort out the complexiities of our healthcare system.

Before Raleigh Geriatric Care Management came into our lives, we were stressed out and not sure what to do and where to go for help. With the services, we had a more positive attitude and were less stressed. Lauren was efficient, focused, and very professional in her interactions with eveyone in our situation. Having Lauren in our corner was a source of much needed comfort. She helped us work though tough decisions. Again, many thanks. ~Barbara. O.

I was fortunate to have Lauren Watral help me help my elderly mother who was not healthy, not caring properly for herself, and not accepting any advice or help from our family. Mrs. Watral provided many useful and direct options and resources to help me succeed. A home visit inspired my mother to make needed changes. I was extremely impressed with Mrs. Watral's highly professional, yet equally personable, manner, putting my mother immediately at ease and engaged in a very open dialogue without any resistance from my mother. Lauren Watral's suggestions and advice were the first step that allowed me to help my mother accept her situation and allow her family and doctors help her. Mrs. Watral's help included recommendations and suggestions that lead me to direct and appropriate resources. All of her assessments and recommendations were spot on. Lauren Watral's geriatric care management services are invaluable.

Before Raleigh Geriatirc Care Management came into our lives, we were unsure of our options with regard to home care for an aging parent and aunt. Addtionally, we became more confident inknowing where to turn for help and how to proceed with our next step. Lauren Knows the landscape of eldercare and never failed to offer workable solutions to our many dilemmas. I would recommend lauren without hesitation to anyone facing the complicated questions of dealing with aging parents.

About three years ago (after a heath crisis) my elderly mother then 93 came to live with me. It was a difficult adjustment for both of us. At times I wasn't certain if I could continue to cope. Then I found out about a support group, Adult Children of Aging Parents, facilitated by Lauren Watral. Attending the group sessions were a life line for me. I learned survival skills, discovered community resources and found out that I was not alone. Lauren is a very skilled facilitator and as a result I felt comfortable to bring up painful issues. In addition to the group meetings I had several one on one sessions with Lauren that were also extremely helpful. I strongly recommend Lauren Watral and her geriatric care management skills to anyone struggling with the issues that are faced when dealing with an aged parent. Lynne P
