I travel from Winston Salem to Shiloh often to replenish items that I purchase that this is the only place I can find. I love their Sourdough Bread, but I also purchase their pasta, canned goods, good cheese, and local items. The people are kind, helpful and very polite. To visit is to take a moment and slow down and for a person looking for some unusual items, it is here that they can be found. Enjoy the visit and stop at the numerous vineyards in the area. This is not what one thinks of as an Amish store. everything is over priced, manufactured and prepackaged. Nothing is hand made or home made. Don't waste your time with this. You can get the same from your local grocery for a third of the price. By JP on January 11, 2010 at 02:53 PM
My grandparents lived in Pa. Going in Shiloh Store reminds me of visiting my family ! The people are Very Sweet ! They have rootbeer and birchbeer and it smells like grandma is in the kitchen baking ! Wow what wonderful memories it brings back when I walk in the door ! It is a special treat to visit Shiloh ! Our family gives them 5
stars ! We are headed there tomorrow !!! By Beth Morris on January 07, 2010 at 10:48 PM
Yesterday was my first visit to Shiloh, and since being home I've told everyone planning a trip about the store. This is a great little place to visit, and purchase items. What is so amazing is that as far as I could tell we were in the middle of nowhere. I wish the owners all the best. By Robert Parrish, Sr. on October 22, 2009 at 01:06 PM
This is a very unique store that everyone needs to visit at least once!! My whole family enjoys going to this store. From the baked goods to the deli, not including all the other wonderful products this stoere has to offer you are sure to find something!! By Sarah on August 17, 2009 at 11:17 AM
I Love this store and the owners. I go there every chance I get. I used to shop at the other store down the road and it was OK.
At the shiloh store, the prices are reasonable and the AMISH that work there are very nice and friendly. I will continue to shop there. If you have never been there, you must go and see what I am talking about. By Tamara on May 07, 2009 at 01:37 PM
I think the Shiloh General Store is great, we love to drive over and have a fresh made sandwich from the deli. They have always been nice to us.
I think the commet before was not fair, as we do visit both stores. And at times the other amish store is closed. We have went there several time and it closed. So maybe the owner of the Shiloh store was thinking it was one of the days they were closed by mistake. Just beening fair.
I do love both of the amish stores there and shop at both. By J Mabe on September 16, 2008 at 06:46 AM
What a wonderful little store to visit! It's not hard to tell where to get homemade goods when you walk into a place and it smells of fresh bread and the loaves are still warm on the shelves. Don't expect the people working there to talk to you alot, although they are friendly enough. They are just too busy trying to keep the place stocked and customers checked out. This is truly one of my favorite places to visit. By Sue on July 29, 2008 at 06:56 AM
For all these people that are saying not to go to Shiloh because they lie about the Community Market, this is for you. They are not lying, infact who knows when this store is actually open, I have lived here for 27 years, and go by there randomly, because the owner is my cousin (and he s NOT amish , but dresses the part so him and his family can sell more) but most of the time the place is closed. The food there is not homemade, they repackage items into cute little plastic bags... However the food at Shiloh is homemade and the owners are Amish, and if you go u must try the Apple Dapple Cake, oh my its great!! By ladyriderr_24 on March 24, 2008 at 11:32 AM
