Hi Guys! Thanks to to the power of internet, I'm able to share my frustrations too after purchasing a lot in Silver Saddle in 2001 for $20K plus 15% APR (this is before the housing boom). Here's my story:
We were informed of winning from a grocery store drawing for a free vacation to California City Silver Saddle Ranch. When we we're there, we were brainstormed to buy a property and convinced us of its big potential. My fault of buying the property but I still feel that I was mislead. In 2001, 20K is no joke (not to mention the 15APR). For the past years, I'd been diligently paying that loan. The thing is--the actual value of the lot is only 500 to 3K. I personally felt (up to now) that I was scammed. Any justice to this? Or anything we can do about his? I mean , we work hard to get and save some cents--I feel really bad about this. I want to know some more reactions...Thank you. For those who feel the same way, like joey Ayala---please give me your email..maybe we can talk..

This silver saddle thing is a BIG SCAM, BIG SCAM AND BIG LIE.. The new buyer watch out, they are only nice to you now because they want you to buy, but after you buy, they don't care about you anymore. All they want is your maney, money, money. I bought property their in 2005, I paid about $20,000.00. I still have $30,000.00 balnce. I stop paying for about 3 years now, they stop asking me to pay and all those late payment are not on my credit report. This business is fishy. I'm getting a lawyer to get my money back or get the title of the land on my name. Lie, Lie, Lie< scam, scam, scam.

I dont know why people could have the audacity to call this a scam, after getting 1 day and 1 night stay with full accommodation, including dinner and breakfast for the whole family, free gas card to get there and back, free use of all the amenities including horse back riding, kayaking, and a tour, and a raffle that includes more free stuff....... Yes they do sell properties which they clearly notify you before you even get there, no one is forced to buy anything, you can always walk out if you dont like the deal.... Thats how they advertise people! Use your damn brain!

I usually come to SSR twice a year with my family. Being members for over 10 years, I never get tired of it. Spring and fall seasons are the best times of the year, but the summers are fine too if you do not mind the daytime heat, which I love, the warm nights are very nice during the summer. They also have two pools to keep you cool. Ive found that the winters can be cold and windy, so we do not go during that time, i dont like the cold. The rooms are rather small, but very nice. The have many great amenities for the room, including a mini refrigerator. The restaurant and bar have good food and drinks. Most of the time the service has been good, but occasionally, the service can be somewhat slow, but when you are outside the big city, you need to relax and go with the flow. Silver Saddle is not a luxurious 5 star resort. It is a down to earth place that you can relax and enjoy the many outdoor activities and enjoy the beautiful nature there. The staff and other guests are friendly.

WE WON A TRIP TO SILVER SADDLE, WHICH INCLUDED HOTEL, FOOD AND USE OF THEIR ACTIVITIES. IT WAS A BIT OF A FAR DRIVE AND WE DID NOT HAVE CELL PHONE RECEPTION WHILE UP THERE, BUT WE ENJOYED EVERYTHING ELSE. IF YOU LIKE TO GET FAR FROM THE CROWDS AND BE IN NATURE, IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT.

We went to Silver Saddle Ranch last fall after winning a prize through a supermarket raffle (Seafood City Market). We first went to a free dinner paid for by them, which also included a very nice watch set for two. At Silver Saddle, the accommodations were very basic, but we were not planning on staying in our room for much time anyhow. All of the activities were great and the food was good, too. Since it was all for free, it was even better. I wish they would allow an additional night stay because one night is too short to enjoy everything, but we were lucky to experience what they gave us. They do try to sell you property/membership which they explained to us beforehand, but they were not pushy or rude when we declined. We would love to go back there again if we were given the opportunity.

Silver Saddle had a raffle at Seafood City Market (Eagle Rock Plaza, Los Angeles branch), which is a big SCAM. I won a prize (dinner for two at Max’s Restaurant) with matching his & her watch, $500 vacation package at Silver Saddle, and a $100 gift certificate from Seafood City Market that I can’t claim unless I attend the reserve dinner at Max’s. because they’re main purpose is just to sell a piece of land, I’ve been there 7yrs ago and they are forcing you to buy a piece of land, they are using the $500 vacation package at Silver Saddle prize so that you can go there and forcing you to buy a piece of land even you don’t have money they will come out of all the strategy for you to produce a money, and if this will not work there niece treatment to you turns to ugly one. This raffle is a BIG LIE……and FRAUD…….

use your time & gas to go some place that's not a waste of either, you'll be glad you did. at Silver Saddle they just want to sell you desert land in the middle of nothing. the sales people will tell you any lie they can just to get you to buy from them. I don't know how the department of real estate let's them get away with their unethical ways. there are better deals in better places out there.
