Free Cruise?? or Free BS???

1

I received a call this morning stating I had won a "Free Cruise" per entering a contest several months ago. I asked the lady some questions and did not get very far as she kept over-talking me. When she stated all I had to pay for were the "taxes" for the cruise, I asked her about how much it would be. She had the nerve to say, we are already giving you a a free cruise, what more do you want? I was appalled!! You have the nerve to call me and tell me that I won a free cruise and then be rude??? I think not, and I hope your parents raised you with better manners. I will NOT be going to the presentation tomorrow after reading these other reviews. My suggestion... If you hear the name Smart Travel, be smart and hang up the phone!!!

VERY RUDE!!!!

1

Well we "won" a trip for two and when I called it sounded great. So I thought it was to good to be true and I was right. I talked to some people that had been and they told me not to waste my time. So I called to cancel and the woman I spoke with was VERY rude and kept telling me that we should go and that I didnt know what I was talking about. I told her 5 times to take me off the list and she just would not listed so I finally told her I was going to report her. So she finally took me off the list. So YES THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!

If I could, I would give zero stars. I won a 3 day vacation to the bahamas at no cost to me. YEAH RIGHT! These people are heartless, cold and out to get your money. Best thing for you to do is just hage up when they call.

DON'T EXCEPT CRUISE -- IT'S A SCAM!!!!!

1

THESE PEOPLE ARE PREDATORS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO CODE OF ETHICS OR MORAL INTEGRITY --- WATCH OUT!What you will be paying for this is more than any other cruise with all of their fees, penalties, etc....Stay home -- they will waste your time in a presentation, then they will waste even more of your time with a high pressure salesman trying to get 15,000 out of your pocket at 17% interest -- what you will be paying in fine print by far surpasses what you would get from orbitz.

Smart Travel aka "TAN" is a big SCAM!

I received a phone call as well stating that I "won" a trip to the Bahamas all I can to pay was the taxes which ran between $189 - $225 each. All I had to do was go to the 1 hr presentation and did not have to buy anything. Well after the presentation, a salesman sat me & my husband at a table and tried to sell me 30 vacations for $15,000 (which they financed at 19.99%) and $2,400 down and $256 a month for 5 yrs, pluse a $359 annual maintenance fee, plus a $99 fee per person when you scheduled the vacation and $99 st stay at one of the places they own.. I told them NO and they would not let me leave the "sales" table. I had to get up and start walking out for them to come after me and tell me I still won the cruise. They were very rude to me after i told them I would not buy anything. They gave me my voucher but I have not registered to get my cruise. I am not going to go on the "free" cruise which is going to cost me about $800!!! I'll go to a REAL Travel Agency!!!.

If You Want to Travel Smart, Avoid Smart Travel

1

Avoid overpriced travel with the offer of a "free cruise with airfare." It's deceitful and dishonest. It costs $100 up front. Then you are informed of another $200 or more in charges for taxes and miscellaneous charges. Then the selection process for the dates forces you to preselect three dates that go well into the summer. If you select "peak travel dates" (including "spring break" or "summer"), you discover in the fine print that there is an extra charge of $149 for peak season. This brings the cost to about $450. But then you discover that they fly you in a day early, meaning you have added costs for a hotel room and for travel to the hotel and then to the departure site. This brings the cost of the "free" cruise to about $650 or more. They also put in the fine print that your cabin on the cruise is an interior cabin on the lowest level, and that any changes to the cabin or airfare require the payment of additional charges. If you want to travel smart, avoid Smart Travel.

False Lead

1

I got a call one morning saying I had won a trip to the Bahamas. I asked the lady what the catch was and she said all I have to do is watch a 1 hour video then pick up my package and leave. I was smart enough to Google them and read nothing good about their "free" trips. I didn't go to the meeting because I had called them and told them what I found and they inform me that you have to make $25,000 or more a year before they will give you the package that you "won". the lady said she would call me back because I had to look up how much I made. She never called back.

BUYER BEWARE

1

Two words: STAY HOME!! First they'll try and sell you a $12,000 vacation package. When you can't afford that then they pressure the hell out of you to try and sell something smaller, like $8,000, $5,000, $3,600, etc... Then when you say no to all that, they finally send you back to "Corporate Gifting", AKA, round 12. Here they'll try and sell, once again, the smallest package, about $1,000. And that "Gift" you receive, the cruise?? Ask to read the fine print on the back of the cruise certificate upfront. There are so many stipulations it's virtually impossible to use. Nothing this company offers for 'FREE' is worth the time, money, gas, headache, etc.... to get in the car, TRUST ME, I KNOW!!!

Presentation tomorrow...

5

I received a call stating that my husband and I have won a 3 day cruise to the bahamas if we attend a 60 minute "introduction" to Smart Travel. I expect there to be a lot of pressure to purchase a vacation plan, but are willing to sit through the presentation for a free vacay. A friend of mine did this last year and was told that she would be responsible for the taxes, which were about $600.00. So with that said, it's not free, but to include the airfare and cruise itself, it seems like a great deal. I was told the cruise would be leaving out of Florida and docking in Nassau. I will let you know how it goes, but from my understanding they will be putting on the pressure to purchase another vacay deal. From what my friend says, it is legit and you do actually get the vacation deal, just miserable for an hour or so.
