Leash broke and I had to pay! I rented two boards for the day, the guy working the shop was friendly and told us where to go to find some good waves. I paddled out caught one wave, not a big one maybe 4ft (2ft Hawaiian), I rode the wave and bailed out just before it closed out on me and the leash broke right away. I was left swimming in poipu beach by the dry reef and the board was dumped into a tide pool. I swam under about five waves before flagging down the lifeguard who was out catching waves and keeping an eye on everybody. He paddled me in, it would have been a long swim. Luckily, the board wasn't damaged and neither was I besides scratching my foot on the reef. when I returned the boards the guy was not cool. He actual made me pay for the broken leash and I'm sure he would have made me pay for any damages on the board, luckily there weren't any. His equipment fails and I have to pay for it!

Great shop, great guy! Though I was not a local or an expert by far Tamba and Tamba Surf Co. made my surfing experience on Kauai a great experience 09/2004. I rented a board and got some great advice from him. I was looking for a spot to get wet, get some waves and not get in any locals way and he pointed me in the right direction. I would recommend this shop to any surfer looking to visit Kauai. Thanks Tamba.

the greatest surf shop i have ever been too, and i use to manage one here on the mainland as well. we strived to be 1/1000 of what this shop is all about. it's proof that you don't need to have the square footage of jacks, hss, or ron jon's to represent the sport and culture that you love. i have been all around the world and never experienced the amount of aloha than when i walked into this tiny shop with a huge pressence. i was stoked to purchase hundereds of dollars worth of tamba goods upon my visit. even though i may be from another hawaiian outer sland who now lives full time on da' mainland, i represent tamba everywhere i go...i'm not even sponsored by them. all i wish is they had a web site so i can buy more goods even when i'm here on da' mainland. tamba is the shop i will promote 4-life!!!!!

Visit this surf shop for your Kauai surfing needs. You will get great prices and helpful personal service from Tamba himself. The store is very small but you should be able to find what you need.
