The Animal Doctor

I was shocked to go to The Animal Doctors for 4 years happy with the doctor, but surprised by the rudeness of the Office Manager, Sandra Walter. The office called to suggest purchasing a special food for my dog which I was told they had in stock. While in the office I was charged for the food and a urine analysis, but sent down the street to El Camino hospital for pick up of the food. For better customer service and lower prices I would suggest a different vet office.

THE Animal Doctor; Dr. Lagerwerff, has been providing my animals with excellent, loving care for over 20 years now. And even when I moved far away from his practice, I continued to keep my animals under his care. One of the first things I point out about the Doctor, when singing his praise to other pet lovers, is that when entering the examination room he always greets the animals first, then their 2-legged guardians. I am always touched that he is down on his knees saying his "hellos" to my Great Danes, making sure they feel as comfortable as possible (with what might be about to happen!), before discussing the purpose of the visit with me. That makes all the difference in the world to my "boys" just as much as it does to me...and I speak from experience, it -really- matters to them. Dr. Lagerwerff's love of the animals is shared by his wonderful staff. I highly recommend The Animal Doctor practice to all.

Dr. Lagerwerff is the best vet I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I have been helped by many vets, but never as well as with Dr. L. In good situations, his advice and knowledge are very excellent and his style is that of a straight-shooter. In difficult times, he's been understanding and caring. On the expensive side, but I'll do what I can to get the best care. n.c.w.

Dr. Lagerwerff is hands down the BEST veterinarian! I went through several vets on the Peninsula over the years before finally finding Dr. L, and he is without a doubt, the best of the bunch! He involves you in the discussion and collaborates with you to determine the best care for your pet. He communicates clearly and tenderly, especially in tough situations. Your pet deserves Dr. L!
