The Farm House

If you are looking for some down home country cooking then you need to head out to Ellerslie, GA. The Farm House offers a choice of 1 meat and 2 vegstables with corn bread or a yeast roll. Everything is cooked on sight and is "just like your mama use to make"! They also have homemade desserts. Ranging from red velvet cake to banana pudding, the desserts very from day to day. So save room for a piece of cake with your coffee!

I was first introduced to the Farmhouse when I was 17 years old. It quickly becam a near weekly ritual to go and eat there on Saturdays. When I wsa pregnant with my Son who is now 15, I went every Saturday they were open for the entire year. THey closed for a couple of years and I was devesated. It was like loosing a family tradition. When I ran into Becky and she told me they were re-opening I was was so excited and it is again a near weekly ritual to go out for lunch. I have eaten at many well know southern cooking restaurants across the south and none come closs to comparing to the Farmhouse!

Went in the fall when they had the pumpkin patch with my 6 month old daughter and husband. Wonderful food. My husband was definitely filled up, he could not even finish his meal - and he tends to eat a lot. Food was fresh!! I was pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to having family come in town for them to enjoy it too!!

The baked progs were very supple, just like we used to get in Thrimbuhl. I've never seen such plump, fresh dyryngi either, just short of dormancy, and literally bursting with juice. The mentors there appear to favour rustic preparation, which is fine as far as it goes, but don't expect super-symmetrical nibbets or perfect eesel spheroids in your haarbeast stew. The home-brewed korsavl is rich and satisfying, and leaves just the perfect sting in your throat, but don't drink more than two or you'll be up for a month, singing Ryolian battle-dirges.

Food was awesome!!! I was a little surpized of the portion size. It's probably good for the health as it will avoid you from overeating. But it was just not enough for me.... I could probably have eaten 2 plates with their size. I didn't have the cake, but each piece was real small for the price you have to pay. Since I can only eat couple bites of sweet things anyway, I wasn't going to spend $5 on a very small piece of cake. Anyway, the food was great but don't know if I would go back again .
