The Funky Monkey Cafe & Gallery

I stopped by yesterday while putzing through the town of Cheshire on a self-proposed bike tour. I found this place to be very cozy, charming, and a wonderful place to stop and get something hot or cold to drink and read a magazine while you sip.

Talk about a rip off ,My son and my self ordered 2 egg sandwiches with cheese and 1 med coffee,the sandwiches were pre made eggs on toasted bread ,dry as heck and no taste at all coffee had a burnt taste to it,there was no one in the store at the time only us and it took 20 mins to get areorder to us,they keep apologizing to us,we should of walked out ,especially when the bill came and it was 18.00 plus dollers,DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THAT GARBAGE, MCDONALDS IS BETTER,

Finally...a spot where you can get great food, desserts, coffee, beer & wine locally! The Funky Monkey has so much to offer without having to run to New Haven for the atmosphere! Top notch entertainment including stand up comedy and local bands. Enjoy a your meal in the shaded courtyard or inside where you can view the latest artist showing. The Watch Factory Shoppes have come to life thanks to Tracy & her creative ideas. You will love the intersting array of pannini's & salad's. They also offer wholemade soups daily which we really enjoy!

Hi All, Just making sure no one misunderstood my April comments as being intended in a mean way towards either Becky Shaw or Da Funky Monkey. The Monkey is great, and Becky... well, who could say anything bad about her? Check this place out!

This place is very cool and the coffee is great. The ice coffee rules. I agree the food is a little on the high side but is very tasty. Not sure what the last reviwer was talking about. I have been there many times and have always had good service.

This place was ok. The food was overpriced and the coffee was subpar. The girl who waited on me was not at all pleasant. I dunno, the atmosphere was nice, but nothing about this place really makes me want to go back.

This place is great! From the delicious “gorgonzapple” salad I had when I met my sister, her two year-old son and mom for lunch, to the fabulous bottle(s) of Chianti my girlfriends and I shared for our monthly "girls-night-out", this is the place to be. It’s so great to have a spot to relax and laugh with friends; over a Double Latte or a yummy glass of wine. There is a bright, lively, up-beat atmosphere, which you’ll find comes not only from the decor but also from the owner - she’s terrific! I almost didn’t want to share any of this for fear of crowds but this place deserves it!

Hey kids: Don't trust this map! Cant fix it, either, I've tried. We are off Rte. 10 in Cheshire, near Cheshire Academy. If you are heading N on 10, take a right onto Academy Rd (68/70), go past Elm St just a bit, take a right into the Watch Factory Shoppes parking lot. S on 10, take a left onto Academy Rd (Rte 68/70). Try to park near Toyz Toy Store, but there are 175 spaces behind and around the Watch Factory-- you just have to haul your tuckus up a few stairs to get to the courtyard level. Look for the ORANGE oval with the Funky Monkey on it!

A beautiful, bright space, DELISH sandwiches, salads, coffee+... super-friendly people, kid-friendly and grown-up friendly too. Decorated w/awesome local art and cool evening happenings like open mic, live music. A bright new STAR in Cheshire!
