The Red Barn

I've eaten at most BBQ places in albany and schoharie counties and the Red Barn is by far the best value. I like John's (the owner) food more than Dinosaur which opened recently in Troy. It is more flavorful and less expensive than comparable dishes at Dinosaur. Go check the barn out. you wont be disappointed.

The Red Barn has quickly become my bar/grill of choice. Good, reasonably price food and a good selection of draught and bottled beers (Newcastle Brown Ale is my favorite beer and I couldn't believe that they had it on draught) keep me coming back for more. Try the chili - its the best I've ever had at a restaurant.

Great Prime Rib. Service was excellent even though the restaurant was full. Love the New Castle beer. First time I had ever tried it. I'll definitely be back.

i have been to the Red Barn more times than i count. The food is excellent but the attention that the staff pays to my familly, especially my kids, it what sets it apart. I like my chicken wings with little sauce, and i like my soda with no ice, they never have an issue with my requests. Prices are excellent... So take it from Big John, when its time to grab it and growl; hook up - dig out and head to the red barn!

I was with the party of six who had lunch there yesterday. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with mayo and mustard, the potato sald and french fries. I had severe abdominal cramps starting at 4:00 yesterday afternoon and threw up the contents of my stomach over one hour. I had a stomach ache until noon today butit's OK now. I did not eat or drink anything from the time we left your place until the cramps started. It may be that the portion was too large for me or it may have been the french fries which were very greasy for me. Other than the french fries the meal was very good and the service was excellent. I live in Pohnpei, Micronesia and am visiting family one of whom owns land in Beard's Hollow and at the lake. Take care, Mix
