Where everybody knows your name and is glad you came...
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a character on the TV sitcom "Cheers?" You know, where you don't know a stranger and the folks really care about you. I have found that place in the Thistle Bee Quilt Shoppe. I'm greeted personally when I walk in (as are all customers) and I can depend on competent, friendly help in planning and executing my lastest quilting adventure. The shop has an excellent assorment of fabrics and a really nice selection of notions. If what I want is not immediately present every effort is made to obtain it quickly. The classes are taught by excellent teachers (as well as creative teachers!) The selection of classes rivels those of shops in larger areas. The only reason this shoppe is a 4 star, not 5 is because of it's size; it is a bit small.. although that does add to the intimacy of the shoppe. Come visit, you'll be glad that you came!

Awesome Quilt Shop - Must Visit
You will not be disappointed when you shop at Thistle Bee. Mary Ellen, the owner, has a large selection of cotton, wool and other types of fabrics in her store along with everything you need to quilt - excellent quality! I took my first quilting class over the summer and LOVED it. She is a fantastic instructor if you a beginner - which I was when I took my class. She continues to help me learn and advance in my quilting. Mary Ellen is very knowledgeable and is always eager to assit me when I visit her store. She has stayed almost an hour passed her closing time to assist me in picking out the perfect fabric combinations for my quilt and not once did she say anything to me. We got carried away with the fabrics that we had no idea what time it was. I hope you visit her store - you won't be disappointed!

Five Stars!!!
I have visited dozens of quilt shops in NC. Thistle Bee may not be the largest, but it is definately my favorite. Mary Ellen optimizes the space with a great selection of fabrics and notions. Definately put this stop on your shop hopping spree next time around. = )

I love this place, Mary Ellen is great , she always helps me pick out my fabrics and gives me great advice. Beverly is a awesome teacher , I have learned so much from her classes , they have really gave me confidence in my quilting , and inspired me. Love you guys !!!!

New friends and stash
I love this shop! From the moment I walk in the door a peaceful atmosphere surrounds me. Mary Ellen and staff are friendly and helpful and willing to spend as much time as needed to make my shop experience a great one. The fabric is overwhelmingly lovely,the notion and pattern selection is wonderful! If you're new to the area this is the place to go first for new friends and serious stash enhancement!

Thistlebee is becoming my home away from home!
Oh, the colours, the patterns all on such beautiful fabric. I've always loved working with all the different fibers through needlepoint, cross stitch, and embroidery. But now through your shoppe and all the wonderful teachers who are always so willing to help in and out of class you have given me a whole new and wonderful way to use colors and fabric. There are so many beautiful things that I am now learning to create. Thanks to you Mary Ellen for Thistlebee and the whole team who contribute their time and knowledge. My heartfelt thanksfor everything including your friendship, and a new joy to my life. Sara

Yes, it is September and we're over halfway through it. Where have you been? I'm trying to get a new blog posted with a picture of the new fabric, Alliance. You will just have to come in to see it! I'm sure you will just have to have some. There is a stripe fabric that calls out your name. I have finally gotten the pictures taken of the new line and what I've been up to. I was able to load] on here so hopefully the blog will be up soon. Hey retirement sounds good, so much more quilting could be done!

Thank you! I love them and can't wait to see the whole quilt done too. Please don't hold your breath for it to be done as I have a ton of samples for the Shoppe in the works right now, so that quilt is on the back burner. I was going to allow one day in my weekend to work on the blue one, but so far this weekend it hasn't happened.
