Glory to Lori ~ CrowningLori Hats is a delightful shop to pick up fun accessories for yourself and others. We always feel welcome and find something to complete an outfit.
On a professional level, Lori worked with us to design a hat for our staging project of a 1940s home, completing a look for a “glam” bedroom!
Lori has created a warm and homey atmosphere to showcase her unique and creative hat designs. The shop, made up of colorful individual places and spaces, is a little adventure in the city!

Wow!!! We couldn't believe our eyes when we walk through the door. There were hats everywhere. Every color and size and shape that you could ever imagine and the way that each of them was accessorized differently caused me to ooh and aah. Lori has a talent that I have never encountered before. I hadn't intended to buy any more hats, since I already have a closet full, but I certainly changed my mind within minutes of entering her shop. I walked out with 2 new hats and some hair accessories, which she showed me how to use to their full potential. Between the 4 of us we came away with many hats and lots of ideas. Thank you, Lori. We've told our friends about this shop and we will be back.

Merchant Response: "Dear Becky, Thank you for your kind words and the great review! It was a pleasure working with you and your friends. Thanks for passing the word along... small shops like mine depend heavily on the kindness of others, and their referrals! I look forward to meeting more of your group the next time you visit Portland. Let me know in advance that you are coming and I will provide 'goodies'... and maybe even lunch at a local restaurant! Lori - I just wanted to say Thanks for the wonderful and unexpected girl day that we had! We thought we were just going to another 'store', but we were met with such a warm hospitality that we were bowled over! You made us feel so welcome!
We felt like we walked into a friend's house and got to try on all her favorite hats and clothes - and then got to take them home! You invited us to be girls, to play and laugh and dream. You didn't mind that we stayed for hours. We feel like we stumbled on a rare treasure. That day has stayed with me since then!

Merchant Response: "Chris, and friends! - the pleasure was all mine! My, how time flies when you are having fun, yes? Thanks for the opportunity to serve you, the gracious note, and the photo of the 3 of you in your new hats! Perhaps I'll put it on my website, and/or my MySpace page! Thanks also to the 3 of you for returning, separately, subsequent to your initial 'group' visit. Its always nice to meet other hat lovers! My latest venture, the HatFancier hat club, is progressing nicely. We just had our first outing - lunch at the Heathman Hotel, followed by window shopping downtown. Great fun for the 5 attendees, and many compliments on our hats! Looking forward to you joining us next time, in friendship, Lori." - December 02, 2008
I love to shop for my hats at the Bright Yellow House. Not only is Lori eager to please, she makes every creation herself. If you can't find what you are looking for just ask and she will create it. I am the owner of several of Lori's one of a kind creations and get rave reviews every time I wear one of her hats. It is such a pleasure to shop at a local establishment and develop a rapport with the owner. Keep up the good work. For the those of you on the west or north side of town, it is worth the drive to come and shop at the Bright Yellow House.

Merchant Response: "Lise! Thanks so much for the review! It has been my pleasure these last 4 (!) years to create 70 or so ('several'?) hats for you, and I very much appreciate the encouragement and support that you, our mutual friend Jean M. and many others in the local 'red hat' scene have provided. Thanks for your patronage during this Holiday Season, and I look forward to seeing you in the New Year as I continue to further expand my hat business." - January 07, 2009
I was so happy that my son found "The Bright Yellow House" and told me about it! I have had such fun finding 'One of a Kind' hats to wear. It is wonderful to know that no one but me has my hat. My Red Hat group loves to go and 'brows around' to see what unique hats we can find. Lori has helped me to find just the right hat for any outfit that I have brought in to her. And she has helped me find outfits (Lydia's Closet) and hats to wear for some of the events I go to. I can't wait to see my 'Holiday' hat that Lori is creating for me!

Merchant Response: "Nancy! Thank you so much for the nice review. It has been a pleasure working with you and other members of the Old Bats with Red Hats chapter this past year or so...you are a great 'ambassador' for the Bright Yellow House! Your catering service, Crowe's Creations and More, has made several of our past 'functions' all the more enjoyable, and we look forward to working with you during our pre-Christmas events, and next year, also. Merchant Response: "Thank you, Queen Betty (ChrysantheMums Chapter), for your kind words of support! We strive to please! Our new Fall/Winter hat line is now on display, and the Fall Fashion Event/Open House on Saturday, October 13th to introduce it was well received by the 60 or so ladies who attended. As usual, Queen Nancy of the Old Bats with Red Hats did a fantastic job of catering the event, and was also a great help in greeting and assisting the ladies. But we missed you, personally! Hope to see you soon, Your friends at the Bright Yellow House, Lori and Kevin..." - October 22, 2007

I'm a small woman with small head. Most hats in general do not fit. I would like a hat for winter with a rim.
