How do I get started?

MerchantCircle has created over 14 million listings for small business across America. See if MerchantCircle has created a listing for you. If we do not have a listing for you already, you can create a new listing for your business. Just sign up today.

I’ve signed up - now what?

You’ve already started—you’re a MerchantCircle member, and a part of your local neighborhood online. Start updating content on your profile and creating original content such as ads, coupons, newsletters and blogs. The information in my listing is incorrect. How do I fix it?

Please begin by claiming your listing if you have not done so already. To claim your listing click on the square orange button “Claim this listing!” You will be guided through the set-up wizard. You will enter your contact information and select a username and password to complete the process.

Once you have claimed your listing you have the ability to edit the content as you wish.

To edit your listing please do the following:

  1. Sign into your merchant dashboard
  2. Click on ‘Customize My Website’ in the left hand navigation bar.Customize My Website
  3. Click on ‘Edit Business Profile’ in the drop down menu that appears.Edit Business Profile
  4. Edit your business information - make changes to any content on the page. Here you may edit your business name, address, description, keywords, etc. If you change your business’s phone number please make sure to click the box “Check here to include the company name and phone number changes to your listing url”Edit Appropriate Fields
  5. Click 'Save' in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.Don't Forget to Save

Please also browse through the tools that we provide you to maximize your listing's advertising potential: sign into your merchant dashboard and browse through the left hand tool bar—the headings and drop down menus.

The Map is wrong how do I change the location?

You may edit the location of the map from the merchant dashboard. In order to physically change the location of the pin on the map do the following:

  1. Log in to your merchant dashboard,
  2. Click on 'Customize My Website' located in the left hand tool barCustomize My Website
  3. Click on ‘Map My Business’ in the drop down menu that appearsMap My Business Navigation
  4. Grab the pin with your mouse and move it to the location on the map that you would like it to appearGrab the Pin on the Map
  5. Don't forget to confirm the changes.

Tell me more about Ratings and Reviews.

There are two ways your customers can leave comments on your listing: 1) Ratings (i.e. the Star System) and 2) Written Reviews. Ratings and Reviews are posted directly to the merchant’s business listing. The registrant of the listing has full control over his or her reviews: he or she may respond to and/or delete all reviews from the Merchant Dashboard.   1. A Star Rating System: Consists of a 1 - 5 star rating. NOTE: Any site visitor or MerchantCircle member may leave a rating for any business listed on MerchantCircle. Ratings are 1 - 5 stars, and are always given anonymously. We limit site visitors to one rating per business. The star system is an average of all the reviews that have been left. For example, if you have 5 reviews, 3-'5' star reviews and 2-'1' star reviews—then your star rating will be the average of these reviews. In other words, 3 stars is your average rating. Because we allow customers to leave anonymous ratings, we give the merchant the control to reset the system from the Merchant Dashboard, click on ‘Connect with Customers’, page down to the bottom of the page, and click reset.   2. Reviews: Are posted by reviewer to MerchantCircle listings. Again, the registrant is in complete control over the content that is displayed on their listing. All reviews can be edited from the Merchant Dashboard. Click here for more instructions.Reset Reviews

How can MerchantCircle help my business?

MerchantCircle is already helping your business if you are one of the over 14 million businesses included in our directory. Customers searching for your business online will often find it first through MerchantCircle. To make sure more customers find you, we encourage you to sign up and use the free marketing tools to create a professional looking listing in just a few minutes. We have found that merchants who post content to their listing page have almost twice the traffic as merchants who don’t. This makes it easier for search engines and potential customers to find your business.

How much does it cost to sign up?

MerchantCircle is free to join, and the tools for finding new customers and building your reputation are free to all registered users once you sign up. There are paid packages available to all merchant who would like to use search engines and other advertising options to find additional customers.

How do I manage the invitations that I receive?

You may manage you connections with other merchants from your merchant dashboard

  1. Sign into your merchant dashboard
  2. Click on ‘Build My Network’ located in the left hand tool barBuild my Network
  3. Then click on ‘Manage Connections’ in the drop down menu that appearsManage Connections
  4. Here you may view the connection requests (invitations) that you have received, the invitations that you have sent, etc.

I've registered or I have requested a temporary password, why haven't I received MerchantCircle emails

Your email provider may be inadvertently putting your emails into a spam filter. You can reset your spam filters to make sure that emails from merchantcircle.com show up in your inbox, not your spam box.

What is my Reputation Score?

The MerchantCircle Reputation Score is your gate to managing your online reputation. By running the Reputation Score Report you can gather all the online information (contact, reviews, ratings, and more) about your business. The Score itself is calculated by factoring in the accuracy of your contact information as compared to your MerchantCircle account, the percentage of online reviews from third party sites like Yahoo Local!, Citysearch, and the Yellow Pages, and the content like blogs, coupons, newsletters, and ads you create on MerchantCircle. Good reviews, correct contact information, and creating ads, blogs, newsletters, and coupons all help raise your score.

I am listed in Yahoo Local, Citysearch, Yellow Pages, etc., so why has my Reputation Score not picked it up?

We conduct searches known as scrapes of Yellow Pages Online, Yahoo! Local, Verizon's Superpages, etc., periodically. Sometimes it takes time to update this information. Other times, if the listing is different, even a minor difference, our search 'crawler' will not pick-up the listing. How do I remove my listing?

To remove your listing from MerchantCircle, please fill out our business listing removal form. Your listing will be removed from the MerchantCircle system within 48-72 hours of your submission.

Please note: once your listing is removed, search engines, such as Google and Yahoo! may still index the listing for a few weeks, but no page will be found. We have no control over the search engines. Sorry for this inconvenience.

How do I opt-out of receiving phone calls?

To opt-out your telephone number from receiving phone calls from MerchantCircle, please fill out our business 'Do Not Call' form. It will take up to 48-72 hours to process your request. Our 'Do-Not-Call' policy is, once you are placed on the Do-Not-Call list, you will not receive further communication from MerchantCircle by telephone.
