Artificial worms do not necessarily fool fish, but fishermen using artifical worms fool them all the time. What I mean by that is that artificial worms are excellent baits if used properly.

You have to come up with the right worm type, size, color and technique for the right situation.

Artifical worms come in sizes from 4" to 18" and that probably does not cover the whole range, but does cover the generally used range. They also come in curly tail, straight, senco, thin, fat, floating, sinking, and many other styles. They come in every color imaginable. The size, color, style, and rigging techniques need to be matched to the prevaiing condtions such as water clarity, time of day, time of year, and species of fish you are after.

The most common type of rigs for worms are: Carolina, Texas, wacky, drop shop, and floating.
