About Albertville

Albertville, a city in Marshall County, Alabama, is part of the Huntsville-Decatur statistical area. The city was named after Thomas A. Albert who was the town leader until his death in 1876. In 2010, on the 102nd anniversary of the "Cyclone of 1908" the city was hit by an EF-4 tornado. The tornado destroyed most of the street known as "Million Dollar Avenue". The street was the location of the first house in Albertville, along with many other historic landmarks. Students here attend the Albertville City Public Schools, which consists of six schools. Marshall Medical Center South, a 150 bed facility, is also located in Albertville. Famous people with ties to the city include actress and model Angela Little and John Hannah, the greatest offensive lineman of all time according to Sport's Illustrated Magazine.
