Go ahead and say this guy is rude. I really don't think he cares. Take a few minutes and you will find that he has forgotton more about model building than you will ever learn. Having delt with guys on his level before I know they are frank and short, if you can deal with that and listen to what he has to say YOU will have a much more satisfying hobby experience. Instead of seeking money he wants you to have and enjoyable experience. Get the guys at the other shops in town to help you choose a good plane to start with. Bet you will spend more get less and destroy it the first time. Just take a look at the level of craftsmanship in his personal planes. I have never seen models built to this level. Do your self a favor, get past his personality and get to know him. Pick his brain and you will have a better experience in the long run. I drive over an hour to get to his shop. I live between B'ham and atlanta and could go to either. I will go to the model box.... more

After a request for help in a bathroom stoppage, my daughter, living there, was rudely told she would be responsible for the cost of unstopping a toilet even though there was no proof that she caused the stoppage. After using an auger on the toilet the maintenance person left without completely repairing the problem. I personally spoke with the complex President, Charles, and was basically dismissed and he rudely refused to fix the problem.... more
