Carrollton is a part of the Pickens County region/metro area of Alabama known for its Pickens County Courthouse and its part in the Civil War. Major attractions include Pickensville Campground and Aliceville Museum Cultural Center. Each year in the spring season there is the Annual Starkville Academy Production. Among the biggest companies in Carrollton are Southern Comfort Stages LLC and Multi Pest Services. The biggest schools here are Pickens Academy and Carrollton Elementary Schools. One of the best places to visit when you are in Carrollton is the Pickens County Courthouse. This courthouse according to legend is haunted by the ghost Henry Wells also known as the Face in the Window.
