About Fairhope

Fairhope is a city in the Baldwin county of Alabama. It is known for its active arts community and schools. Despite of the all round development it retains its small town ambience. One of the major attractions of Fairhope is the arts and craft festival held annually at the beginning of spring. It is also well known for the jubilee phenomenon during which thousands of aquatic animals come to the shallow waters along the shores of Mobile Bay. Among the biggest companies in Fairhope are Best Buy and Advance Auto Parts. The most important school is Fairhope HIgh School, the home of the long tradition of Pirate Football where Leon Lett of the Dallas Cowboys played. One of the best places to visit when you are in Fairhope is the Alabama Battleship which is a park that has an aircraft pavilion and you need to see the Fairhope Pier which has been there for over 50 years and is the center of town. Famous persons from Fairhope include Jimmy Buffet the singer and Marietta Johnson, the educator.
