Crossett is the largest city in Ashley County in the state of Arkansas. It is located in the southern part of the state on the western border and it has a population of about 10,000 people. Some of the most notable people to come from Crossett are James Johnson, Gretha Boston, Barry Switzer and Jesse Clark. One of the best places to go in Crossett would be one of the three-room “mill houses” that are a reflection of Crossett’s historic past. There is also a zoo with an area reserved for petting the tamed animals. And, if you are an outdoorsy type, there is the 65,000 Felsental National Wildlife Refuge which is located eight miles west of Crossett. Every year the city also hosts major events like the Crossett P.R.C.A Rodeo in August and the Wiggins Cabin Arts and Crafts Festival every October. Crossett’s education system runs under their own public school system which directs all of their elementary, middle and high schools. One of the biggest employers is the Crossett lumber company, a well known and established business that has existed in the area for a number of decades.
