About El Dorado

El Dorado is part of the Union County in Arkansas known for its community of education and business. Major attractions include South Arkansas Municipal Auditorium, South Arkansas Arboretum, and Memorial Stadium. Each year El Dorado has the Fantastic Fourth Celebration during July, with a run, car show, fireworks display, food, and music, and MusicFest, which takes place in October and takes up eight city blocks and features over 30 acts on five stages. Among the biggest companies in El Dorado are the headquarters of Murphy Oil Corporation, Deltic Timber Corporation, and Lion Oil Refinery. The biggest schools here are South Arkansas Community College and El Dorado High School. One of the best places to visit when you are here is Historic Main Street Pizza, which offers award-winning authentic pizza. Famous persons from El Dorado include 1964 Miss America, Donna Axum and country music singer, David Frizzell.
