I've not used shea butter, but I have used a mashed avocado with some mayo, olive oil, and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Coat your hair, wrap in a plastic shower cap or plastic wrap and a towel (heated for an even deeper treatment), and leave on for at least an hour. Rinse well and shampoo lightly with a very mild shampoo. Condition as usual. I think you'll be amazed at the results.
I don't use any store brand remedies because for me they don't do the job. I prefer homemade natural remedies...they are far more superior, in my opinion.
