4 Ways Standardized Data Management Planning

Data management is a highly challenging task. Even having a good data management system does not ensure efficiency because it is quite possible to have many unnecessary duplicate entries which affect the search and access time of data. According to a study conducted by Data Warehousing Institute, on average every year businesses in the US lose around 600 billion dollars because of poor data management. With every passing day management of data becomes even more challenging because of the increase in the volume of data. Therefore, it is important to have standardized data management planning for an efficient system. This article discusses the benefits of standardized data management planning. But first, let’s take a look at the basics. What is data management? The process of locating, fetching, storing, and protecting data and ensuring its accessibility, reliability, and meaningfulness is known as data management. It is a critically important aspect of every industry because an absence of a gooddata management systemcan lead to wastage of resources, and non-availability of valuable insights for making better decisions and achieving other business goals. Why data management is important? It might look like an unnecessary cost to bear to get a standardized data management system, but it offers fruitful results in the long run as it makes the whole system efficient and organized. It allows you to identify data errors, under-or over-utilization of tools, and security loopholes. Let’s take a look at how a standardized data management process helps improve the system and overall efficiency. 1.     Easy to Locate and access data Through standardized data management planning, quick and easy data access can be ensured because it aims at managing your information assets quite well. Difficulty in locating data indicates that your information is being stored in an insulated disparate system which impedes data access. This phenomenon is commonly known as data silos. Data silos can be the result of the following: Company Culture:Friction and competitive environment of non-cooperation among various departments, teams, or individual employees can lead to animosity components of an organization refuse to share data with the team. ‍ Management Hierarchies:In big organizations, there are various levels of management. At times, information resides only with the top management and does not pass on to other levels of employees who need it for their daily work. Technological Barriers:usage of obsolete tools and technology can prevent various departments to share information for cross-referencing. An efficient standardized data management process aims at addressing data silos that do not involve big cultural shifts. This includes conducting a quarterly or biannual data management audit, to measure the quality, security, flow, and life cycle of the data. 2.     Barriers in data sharing A data management system that does not allow information sharing cannot be viewed as an efficient system. Because, and access to data may be required by various teams across the organization. Therefore, there must be a standard way of sharing data among different teams. Of course, data sharing can only be done based on authorization, which means that not all data can be made accessible to all employees. Therefore, based on the authorization level of a team or employee, data must be shared using a standardized process. 3.     Low quality, or duplicate entries in data Quite frequently, data can house unnecessary duplicate data copies. These copies do not only take up storage space but also slow down the search process. Data silos or poor quality data may compel employees to not reply to the system’s available data, and make their own repository of information. For example, a missing data entry about a client can cause various issues down the lane. Therefore, standardized data management planning can define a process and method of housing consistent information. It ensures that the data exists in the same format, and the same data is available to all departments in an organization. 4.     Data security and compliance Due to data protection laws, it has become critical for all organizations to make sure that no data is left unattended, and all measures are taken to ensure data safety and security. Maintaining GDPR, PCI, or HIPAA are inevitable components of any standardized data management planning because to ensure data security, you must first need to manage the data efficiently. Lawsuit Begets a Counter Lawsuit Begets a Class Action Lawsuit

Trademark Attorney Raj Abhyanker of Trademarkia learned that you can't sue your way to success. He learned he could not hide a poor business model by suing virtually all his trademarking competitors – trademark services and trademark attorneys alike, just because his market share dropped from being one of the top USA filers of trademarks. Victims of Raj’s overly litigious rage included LegalZoom, Trademark Engine, The Trademark Company, LegalSherpa, Trademarks411, Trademark Plus and not to be left out - even the UPSTO itself. On August 29th, one of those competitors,TradeMark Expressbit back by filing a $1,666,666 counter lawsuit against Trademarkia, LegalForce Worldwide and Raj Abhyanker personally for predatory pricing negligence, ethical violations and fraud. Chris DeMassa, owner of TradeMark Express claims, “It’s one thing to compete fairly in the market place as a low cost non-legal trademarking company specializing incomprehensive legal researchto help clients avoid likelihood of confusion refusals from the USPTO or a State, as well as future cease and desist lawsuits from those with prior rights underCommon Law, (those company’s without trademarks, but have first use rights nevertheless.). But, it is another to compete with an attorney with superior standing because first they are an attorney, because people universally trust attorneys. So, when that same attorney ethically betrays that trust to file 100’s of thousands of trademarks blindly with no prior research whatsoever so that his fee can be 1/3 our already low fee and also 90% less than competing trademark attorney fees. When it takes us 8 to 10 hours to process one trademark, including our network of independent trademark attorneys for final analysis of research and we have to charge $600 for ourPremium Package, how can Trademarkia do the same work, as attorneys, for just $199? The answer is they don’t. They just file everyone blindly, and badly. Then if there is a USPTO refusal or cease and desist order, they charge lots more fees to argue marks that should have never been filed in the first place. How does $600 compete with $199? How do you compete against that for a day, let alone 10 years?! How damaging is that to business owners who invest an average of $30,000 into their new business, just to find out a year later the business name they chose belongs to another company and they have to change it because they are infringing and cannot get a trademark. What is even worse, the selfish habits of Trademarkia have denigrated the marketplace into not trusting needed trademarking services and competent trademark attorneys alike, who base the trademark filing upon true comprehensive research. It hurts employees of those businesses who cannot afford to rebrand, all their suppliers the marketing chains who accepted them. Small business start-ups and new product development is the engine of our economy. Preventable business failures hurt everyone.” DeMassa continued to say, “One of our countersuit’s 68 exhibits demonstrate the perversity of the corrupt nature of Trademarkia’s practice. As public record at the USPTO we easily surveyed attorneyRaj Abhyanker’s own DEAD trademarksto see how many it took to get to 100. We always knew this was a problem because of caller complaints, but we were floored by the frequency. It only took a couple days to compile 100 marks that should never had been filed. The surprising thing was that it took a survey of only 155 consecutive filings to reach 100. We did not want to accused of cherry picking trademark filings. Stunningly, 62 were likelihood of confusion refusals – the worst kind – that could have easily found if a comprehensive legal search had been done. The same research the USPTO tells people to do before filing any trademark. The other 38 DEAD marks were judgement mistakes an experienced firm would normally help a client avoid, likemerely descriptive refusalsor simple specimen errors the client refused to spend more $ to easily fix. So, Trademarkia’s poor record is even worse, because simple mistakes could have been avoided. The expected ethics of the legal profession is for attorneys to provide honest, accurate, good legal advice. Not with Trademarkia. For over 10 years they have received the same type of USPTO refusals, over and over again, yet they have not changed their practices. It has been apparent to us the answer is an ever changing quest for market share – at the expense of everyone else”, said DeMassa. Proposed Class Action Lawsuit TradeMark Express is seeking ex-clients of Trademarkia who have had their trademark applications refused or cease and desisted against. We want to hear from businesses damaged by Trademarkia’s unethical practice so we can put together a class action law suit to help recoup any monetary losses. We think there are between 30,000 to 50,000 businesses that have been damaged when their new trademarks were refused or later over the years opposed because of Trademarkia’s predatory pricing practices. Our past becomes our future

I am continually amazed at how many times I experience, read, and discuss how the events from our childhood continue to frighten us as adults.  When working with a client and asking them why they do what they do, I often find a compelling fear driving them beyond the normal person.  Digging deeper, the compelling fear is from a childhood experience and how the brain figures out a strategy for staying sane.  Does the fear help them now as an adult - not usually.  Can they move past it, not really - unless they have help. In my journey, I continue to find those ah hah moments of how my current behavior is based on my childhood experience.  A while ago, I made a commitment to have more integrity - honoring my word rather than weaseling out of what I said.  Boy - making the integrity commitment brought the emotional cringe of a past experience, interacting with my dad at age 6.  I am happy to share the details if anyone wants to know.  The upshot is that the experience of being whacked as a 6 year old telling what I thought was the truth changed my thinking about being trusting of people who say they love me or in a position of authority.  Are these adults really on my team?  NO WAY - my brain was saying until a few years ago.  No wonder I could not uphold a commitment thoroughly. Having reviewed those experiences and seeing how the past story is not serving me as an adult, I could let go of the story and make a new choice in its path - Be a man of my word.  If I say I am going to do something, I do it.  No if, ands, or but's.  Leaving life with just a simple truth makes me so much happier about life. How about you?  Are there old stories existing in the attic that are subliminally controlling your thoughts as an adult?  Only a true friend will point them out.
