Flyers and Craigslist both work!! I run a Craigslist Posting Service and my clients will tell you "it works". However, depending on what business you are in, it may take up to placing 18 ads a day in order get a part of the business out there, In one of the categories i post in by mid day the postings are 3 pages deep. i generally post 18-21 posts per day for that client.
