About Port Hueneme

Port Hueneme, a small beach city, is located in Ventura County, California. The city has the motto"Port Hueneme: The friendly city by the sea". The population of Port Hueneme is around 22,000 people and it covers just over 4.5 square miles. The residents of the city have an average household income of about $42,000, about 12% of these people are living below the poverty level. The city has an annual festival called the Hueneme Beach Festival that includes rides, games and live entertainment. A giant sundial was dedicated to Alaska Airlines Flight 261 that crashed in the city. Each year, on the anniversary of the accident, a memorial is held. Most of the students living in Port Hueneme attend the Hueneme School District . High Schools that serve the area include Oxnard High School and Hueneme High School.
