When a person needs to sand wood steps to refinish them, what would be the big difference in using a electric sander or sanding the steps by hand? Does an electric sander help to have a more even fin ...
An electric sander works great in the hands of an experienced user and is less work, but it can make a bigger mess (wider distribution of dust) and in inexperienced hands it can result in swirl marks or grooves.
What is the difference between a builder and bricklayer? Which one of these is likely to require great knowledge in more that one area? Thanks!
A builder is usually called a general contractor in my experience, whereas a bricklayer is not. Thus, a builder generally has to know about electrical codes, plumbing codes, plus all the building codes for bricklayers as well as framing carpenters (aka structural codes) etc. YMMV. but I would not go to a bricklayer for a quote for electrical upgrades or plumbing upgrades. IME, a bricklayer is a subcontractor, while a builder is a general contractor.

Until I am assured that the problem is rectified, I may choose elsewhere to shop and eat.... more
