About Rosemead

The city of Rosemead is located in in the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County, California, in the Los Angeles-Long Beach metro area. It is the filming location of the 1978 horror movie, "Halloween." Major attractions include the Dinsmoor Heritage House and the Savannah Pioneer Cemetery, considered the oldest Protestant cemetery in Los Angeles County. The 4th of July Parade Queen competition is held each year. One of the biggest schools here is Don Bosco Technical Institute. One of the best things to do when you are in Rosemead is to visit some of the city's parks, such as Garvey and Zapopan parks. Depending on the park, you may find playgrounds, picnic areas, trails, ball courts and fields. Notable residents of Rosemead have included violinist, Toscha Seidel; designer, Bob Mackie and singer, Vikki Carr.
