I have always liked the old wives tell of using newspaper to clean your windows. I have only heard that you get wet paper and black ink. I have never seen a professional window cleaner use paper towels, or newspaper to clean windows. I have only seen professionals use metal channels and rubber blades, or in other words - a "squeegee".

I like the idea of streak free. The rubber with the "sharp" edge cuts dirt and debris off of the glass. My friends who have always cleaned their windows with paper and the blue window cleaner, decided after we cleaned their windows using squeegees, that they didn't want to go back to the streaks.
When you use paper you are wiping the dirt around in circles having to use new paper when the first is wet, always using dry paper, trying to not create a mud circle. With rubber you are pulling the dirt off of the glass just like on your vehicle. I believe it to be a time saver as well. Instead of sending your employee out to clean the front door with that blue cleaner, use some liquid Joy in a bottle and use a squeegee. Cut their cleaning time in half or better by using rubber instead of paper.
We are always asked what our secret window cleaner is, because of how clean our customers windows become. With liquid Joy, "a little goes a long way". Joy also cuts the grease of finger prints. Liquid Joy costs us $1 per bottle at the Dollar General Store or $3 for a half gallon. I have seen other window cleaning products go for much, much more. A small bottle will last us about 20 gallons of cleaning solution or more. In drier atmospheres use less soap. We use about a tablespoon to a half gallon of water in Central Ohio almost year round. The only time we can't is when we are trying to clean sky lights on a hot and sunny July day.
Always use a 4" or larger razor - not rusty, but new razor to remove decals or stickers.
