Like John Salazar, do you think that George Bush's tax cuts should be ended for people who earn over $200,000? Or, like Michael Bennet, do you think that they should remain in effect?
Our most important social services, including bridge repair and replacement, have been allowed to be critically underfunded for far too many years. The wealthy have never shouldered their part of the burden for keeping this country running properly, including the bottom eighth of the population that requires some kind of assistance to live. They were a fact of life in Jesus times and we still have them with us.
So no, no more tax cuts, no more corporate welfare systems. We must be more diligent in watching over the politicians who continuously sell us out for personal gain to the mighty and rich and powerful.
We must take back our country from the greedy.
Are guests required to tip the maid when staying in a hotel? What are the criteria for tipping a maid when staying at a hotel?
Hi Maribeth - I was general manager of a 33 room hotel in Telluride, Co. for 7 years. In my opinion tipping at any hotel depends on the level of services offered and more so services executed during your stay. I base my tips in hotels on the condition of the room upon my arrival and the upkeep of the room throughout the stay. I usually calculate a tip of 2% of the nightly rate charged. I also always make it a point to leave any gratuity at the front desk with a desk manager and request that it be given to the room attendant who took care of my room, or equally distributed to the housekeeping staff. I think it's important to recognize work which exceeds our expectations as a guest with a reasonable and rational gesture. Another idea to reward a hotel staff without dipping into your pocket would be to leave a review on www.TripAdvisor.com - These reviews really help hotels generate much needed unbiased content and information about how there property is taken care and managed. Hope that helps answer your question and thanks for asking. Best regards.
