Don't believe the hype.
Whoever said this shop is BS ain't lyin. Trying to go the cheap route, I saw a 4l60e that appeared to be nice on ebay that stated it was good for 600hp. I called the seller before I purchased it because with the exchange of that kind of money, you tend to want to know exactly what you are getting. I told him exactly what I had and how much power I was putting down to be sure the trans would hold . When I went to pick the car up from my mechanic, who is usually pretty upfront with me, he immediatly told me he didn't think I would be happy. He informed me of what he though about the transmission from the day it arrived to the shop. He stated that it arrived on a palate, only bolted down. He stated that it appeared to be stock, pulled from a junkyard and painted, and that the oil pan looked to have been welded. The trans failed only after a day of driving. I sent it back and the same happened again after they sent another trans. I guess it's true in you get what you pay for.... more
