New Smyrna Beach is a part of the northeast area of Florida known for its coastal beaches and art communities. Major attractions include Apollo Beach and Marine Discovery Center‎. Each year in the spring season there is the New Smyrna Beach Balloon Fest. Although the beaches here are beautiful, always use caution, as New Smyrna has been rated "North America's top shark attack beach." The biggest school here is New Smyrna Beach High School. One of the best places to visit when you are in New Smyrna Beach is the Atlantic Center for the Arts. Famous persons from New Smyrna Beach include NFL players Wes Chandler and Darrell Fullington.
