This is a very good question, and I'm surprised it still hasn't been answered. Emerging advertising in the form that you are describing has been described as effective, but as with any form of marketing, you must know your target market and that your message is reaching them. A good stat to remember, albeit from a biased source is that according to the Outdoor Advertising Association of America, " 96% of adults are exposed to outdoor media through local vehicle travel each week" Digital billboards are successful and everyone from law enforcement to advertisers are finding a need filled from this new technology. Airplane logos are a more niche form of advertising and the usual organization that you will find using this method is a travel related business, from SeaWorld to Orbitz.
For airplane banners, I can say from first hand experience they are effective, as having seen them fly over areas here in Florida quite frequently while at the beaches. It is a good way to reach a lot of people, and if your product is somehow related to fun n sun, you'll see even more success. If your business is niche itself and your looking for a unique way to introduce it to a wide variety of people, then it could be successful as well.
The key is in finding a consultant that will look at your budget, develop your target market with you, and implement a strategy that is effective and far reaching.

you would have to call the hotel that you want to stay at and ask them their rates for week-ends and weekdays.personally I don't do that....my prices stay the same all week...I want to be fair to all who stay with me.
