We purchased an old home in South Tampa, built in 1941, with known lead-based paint involving much of the structure. It was fairly well-maintained, but there were still several issues identified on home inspection and later on by Phil himself. The home has its original windows, which are beautiful but unfortunately were chipping, creating a lead hazard for our family. I looked around and many contractors I spoke with either would not deal with lead paint at all or said they would do the project without regard for the lead issues. Then I spoke with Phil. I knew that he was the answer for us. Phil is lead-certified and knows the proper techniques that are essential to use for safe lead containment. He and his team were there on the day we closed, ready to work. While a typical 3.5-inch (89mm) of insulation in a stud wall has an R-value of 13, using 3½- inches of Thermablok® could produce an amazing R-value of 105 in the same space. The majority of thermal transmission in a standard insulated stud wall travels through the mechanical link, usually the studs. Thermablok, which is 99.8% air, interrupts this thermal path quickly and economically. Installation of the product is accomplished by attaching Thermablok to the stud edge before drywall or sheeting is put up. Thermablok comes with a simple pull and stick adhesive back for easy, clean installation. No messy adhesives required. Thermablok technology couldn't have been made available to the public at a better time. Conservation is of course faster, and much less expensive than producing more energy.

Acoustiblok Sound Sealant
Acoustiblok Sound Sealant is a fire-rated caulk with superior acoustical isolation properties, formulated to bond to Acoustiblok material. All joints and penetrations in Acoustiblok material must be sealed, to obtain rated sound reduction values. Available in 10 oz & 29 oz tubes, and 20 oz "sausage packs". Sound reduction installations require as airtight of a seal possible. Provides excellent sealing properties and decouples adjacent surfaces, helping to minimize structural sound transmission. Very flexible and maintains its flexibility over time. Specifically formulated to work with the Acoustiblok Sound Isolation Material.
Acoustigrip Tape
Acoustigrip Tape is specially formulated to form a permanant bond with Acoustiblok material. Ordinary tape will adhere to Acoustiblok, but releases within a few days due to elasticizers in the Acoustiblok material. All joints and penetrations in Acoustiblok material must be sealed, to obtain rated sound reduction values. Acoustigrip (2" x 180', 2 .0 mil thk.) tape is specifically formulated to work with the Acoustiblok Sound Isolation Material and permanently bond to the most demanding surfaces. U.L. recognized and CSA accepted. NOTE: A.C. foil, duct and other tapes may not remain bonded to Acoustiblok® long term; don't jeopardize the sound reduction results of you installation use only proven Acoustiblok products!
Acoustifence
Unlike wood fences or landscaping (which do very little to block sound), the Acoustifence does extraordinarily well in not only blocking sound but also producing far less reflective sound than solid walls do. It is easily installed or removed in less than one hour. Totally NON-mold and UV tolerant, this material is virtually indestructible and does a wonderful job as a sound barrier. Independent lab tests of the Acoustifence material shows an STC of 28, which represents to the human ear approximately an 85% reduction in sound. However, results will vary, relative to surrounding sound reflective objects, i.e., buildings, and how much of the fence is installed. As Acoustiblok® is concerned about all pollution, the Acoustifence is 100% recyclable and comprised of over 64% recycled materials, the remainder being inert minerals.
Acoustiblok 6mm
Acoustiblok offers high performance sound reduction solutions for multifamily projects, condominiums, hotels, hospitals, construction sites, industrial areas and other projects where privacy and sound control are important. Acoustiblok is a heavy, yet very flexible viscoelastic polymer material that provides sound reduction through a unique adiabatic process. Rather than attempting to block or absorb sound, Acoustiblok transforms sound energy into inaudible friction energy as the material flexes from sound waves. A 1/8" (3 mm) thick layer in a single stud wall assembly (STC 53) can provide more sound reduction than 12" (305 mm) of poured concrete (STC 51). Acoustiblok is UL classified for wall, floor and ceiling fire-rated assemblies; it is nailed or stapled to wood framing or screwed to metal framing prior to drywall, ceiling or floor installation.
Acoustiblok 1/8" (3mm)
Acoustiblok is typically applied as part of layered wall, ceiling or floor construction. It is usually stapled to wood studs or screwed to metal studs prior to drywall. Each layer of 16 oz Acoustiblok reduces sound transmission by as much as 30 db depending on the frequencies. It has more sound deadening effectiveness than some treatments with lead. A typical 2 x 4 gypsum stud wall is usually 33 to 35 STC. Acoustiblok installed in the 2 x 4 wall is lab certified at an amazing "STC of 52", better than 12" of poured concrete (STC 51). Acoustiblok's U.L. Classification file number is R21490. Acoustiblok is approved for use in 199 wall and 78 floor/ceiling designs in the Fire Protection Catalog. Acoustiblok audio specifications (STC, NRC, IIC) are independent laboratory test results by Riverbank Acoustical Laboratories, NGC Testing Services, and Intertek ETL/Semko.
