The city of Crawfordville, named for U.S. Sen. William H. Crawford, is located in Taliaferro County, Georgia. Major attractions include the Liberty Hall and Confederate Museum and 1,161-acre A.H. Stephens State Historic Park, with geo-caching, fishing, boating, walking trails, horseback riding and camping. One of the best places to visit when you are in Crawfordville is the Washington Historical Museum, located less than 30 minutes away and where you can view a large collection of Confederate relics, Indian artifacts and a recreation of 19th century home life . Well-known residents of Crawfordville have included vice president of the confederacy, Alexander H. Stephens.
