The town of Garfield is located in Emanuel County, Georgia. Within minutes of Garfield, you can visit the Burke County Museum and the Georgia Southern University Museum, which features a 78-million year old, 26-foot long, fossil skeleton of a Mosasaur; the fossil and a replica of the oldest whale fossil found in North America and skeletons of shark jaws, a sawfish bill and a bottle-nosed dolphin. One of the best places to visit when you are in Garfield is the nearby, 1,071-acre Magnolia Springs State Park, with camping, a pool, picnic areas, a freshwater aquarium, hiking, bicycling, boating, canoeing and swimming.
