About Madison

Madison is the county seat of Morgan County, Georgia and is home to almost 100 restored Antebellum houses, many of which survive because Sherman's did not burn the town on his march during the Civil War (it was the home of pro-Union Senator Joshua Hill). Larger companies in Madison include Pennington Seed, Inc. and Casteel Electric Company. Madison's largest school is the Ga Military College. Famous residents include Worl War II naval hero Albert T. Harris. Madison hosts the annual Madison Fest and Heritage Hoiliday Tour. Area attractions include The Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum (with the world's largest collection of microcars) and Steffen Thomas Museum.
