This teacher has acted unprofessionally by screaming at other staff in front of the children. Several of us parents have gone to the owner with our concerns; however, no changes have been made. It seems that Mickey Olivera is writing his own reviews. Poor bastard. I like the fact that he plays the role of a victim, arguing that students are irresponsible and that's why we have misunderstandings. Well, an important part of his business comes from grad students and he has problems with them too. Sure, grad students party all night and destroy apartments, right? Give me a break! An interesting question to ask is why the average time of a Mike's tenant is less than two years. There is even a Facebook page about it! Look in FB for "Prestige Properties Are Crooks". Right, after all this time in Iowa City he failed to find some good, responsible and decent people. The same luck has his employees. Not a single girl that worked for him lasted more than a year and a half. Mickey, you are a low-life scum. I have no doubt about it. Keep on running your business like this and you will end up renting apartments in the North Pole.... more

Treat Mike's Property as You Would Treat Your Own
I know Mike. There are legit complaints and errors to right in business. Be respectful and responsible, abide by the rules, and take care of the apt. Don't cause complaints and leave it broom clean. If not, your deposit is remedy. Students complete a 'condition inventory' and there are pictures before and after moving so 'there is' evidence of the truth. The unbroken window and 2 month old check makes my point, Mike made things right. Errors... with that many units in college towns, typos, miscommunication and 'gotchas' from angry temperments will surface. If you're a genuine good guy or coed and you do 'what is right', Mike will 'take care of you'. DO NOT show him a thing or two because 'he doesn't know who he's dealing with'. He is a 'pit bull' in a lot more than tone. Meet Mike as a parent offering to take calls if your student is out of line, or as a respectful student promising to take care of his 'investment'. He IS 'relentless' but he earned his way. P.S. He has heart!... more
