Lime Springs is a part of the Howard County Region of Iowa known for its hospitality and natural beauty. The population, at the time of the census in 2003, was 484. Major attraction includes Lidtke Mill Historic Site located in the Upper River area. Each year in August, the town celebrates Sweet Corn Days and Christmas in Lime Springs in December. The town has several businesses including Old Towne Express a trucking company and Gates Upholstery. Lime Springs is a small-closely knit community, and is centered between Southeastern Minnesota and Northeastern Iowa. Their slogan is Lime City just South of the Border.
