How large is limited by wall size and wall load-bearing capability. [Assumption: display is a 1080p, 16x9 display]. But a 15ft wide 1080p TV would be over 8ft tall. Then everyone in the room would see individual screen pixels. Not good. So don't think about how large, but rather about "what is the right size?". The screen size depends upon several factors, including the distance of your closest viewer to the screen, distance of your farthest viewer, whether people are sitting in chairs on a flat floor or a sloped/theater floor, and upon screen content (e.g., movies, graphical, data). In order to avoid seeing individual pixels and for the viewer to be sufficiently "immersed" in the video, the viewer should sit no closer than 3-screen heights away (3h). The furthest viewer is dependent upon content (e.g., letters must be readable with data content). Its generally accepted in the AV community that the farthest viewer can be 8h away for video content, 6h for data, and 4h for graphical content. So figure out how close your closest viewer will be to the screen, divide by 3, and that'll be your screen height. Screen diagonal will then be about twice the screen height.
