About Park Forest

Park Forest, just south of Chicago, is located in both Will County and Cook County, Illinois. The city is known for the "Scenic Ten", an annually held ten miles races that attracts runners from all over the world. In 2008, they shortened the race to just five miles. The city was covered with dozens of fragments from meteorites in 2003 when a meteor exploded over the Midwest. Major attractions in Park Forest include the Illinois Theater Center and Na'ama Rose Dance Center. Other major attractions here include the Sauk Trail Woods and Thorn Creek.Most of the businesses here are small locally owned stores and restaurants. Famous people with ties to the city include author John N. Cook and actress Aree Davis.
