Quad Cities Unique and Unusual Christmas Gift Ideas for 2010!

Hello, Quad Citians! Are there any people on your gift list for whom you have trouble coming up with ideas for what to give to them? Sometimes it is hard to find just the right gift for that special someone who just seems to have everything. If so, then what about giving them something different for a change? Like maybe paying to have their piano tuned and/or to take lessons, room or rooms painted or something else done or made for them? If you're looking for something different for a change or someone to help you with ideas and plans, then I would be glad to assist you! Here are some of the things that I do: tune and repair pianos, give private piano lessons and lessons on other instruments and voice, play for parties, give a variety of types of musical lecture demonstrations for groups, compose music in the form of songs or pieces, refinish brass, refinish and repair furniture, simple upholstery, interior and exterior painting, drywall installation and repair, finish carpentry like installing various types of molding and making book shelves, do all sorts of handyman types of work, build folk music instruments like mountain and hammered dulcimers - folk harps - thumb pianos - also instruments in the harpsichord family of instruments, promote the business of someone on the Internet in the form of ads and/or having a website... The list could go on! Most of the things that I do, I've done for a very long time... Holidays can also be a special time for families and friends in other ways. People get together to celebrate, commemorate, wrap presents, give gifts, share, exchange, pray, worship, give to the poor, eat, sing... Yes, sing! If you have an acoustic piano and you're going to have people over and you'd like someone to play the piano while everyone sings songs and/or Christmas songs and carols together, please do remember to have your piano tuned! Doing so will make the event so much more enjoyable! Other ideas: Maybe someone would like to have a private concert on the piano that's just for them? Maybe someone needs some lessons in how to do things on their computer or on the Internet? Maybe someone needs help with organizing or selling things? Maybe someone needs help with marketing their product or service? So, what about it then? I could help you with this effort and even give you a unique gift certificate to present to the friend or relative on Christmas, their birthday or other special event. If interested, please give Craig Clough a call at (309) 786-8617. I live in Rock Island, IL. My email address is clough@qconline.com
